That's why they looked so familiar! I hit a demo XC3 last week at GG. Low spin, great distance, good feel and sound. Maybe a little too hot for me though

Already have the TS3.5 7i head on order haha. Decided to test it vs my current TS3 and see if the new found MOI and coforging gives me the added height I'm missing. I did have it bent to my current specs of the TS3.
Also ordered the STi3 Gen2 to compare. Be here on 9/29!
During my participation of some iron testing I got to hit the XC2 & XC3. I enjoyed the XC2 much more than the XC3 but these were also in there OTS form and I require some adjustment from that

Didn't even know they were available!! They must have started working on these shortly after they finished up with the TS3's.... I remember when TS3's were in the planning and it took quite a while between design and then prototyping and tweaking those... These look very nice!!
The Gen2 STI2 feels really good when its its well. When you hit close to the center it has a buttery soft feel. I built mine with 60g tensei silver r flex shafts.
The STi2 irons are great. I played my best golf with those irons last year. They are an absolute steal for the price as well.
I have the STI2 Gen2 and the TS3 and enjoy playing either set.
Whats the biggest difference performance wise? I know feel will be different as its cast vs forged and design
Blade length is very similar between them but I feel like the STI2 has more cavity back like forgiveness. The distance for me is a little better with the STI2 also. Pure shots off the STi2 have a forged smooth feel.
That's great news! My TS3.5 & STi2 Gen 2 should be here today so hoping they give me what I'm looking for. Honestly don't hate the look of the STi2 so hoping it can help with some metrics to benefit my game a touch more.
Be sure to post your thoughts on the TS3.5, Im curious to hear what people say about it. Im not sure it has enough forgiveness over the regular TS3 to buy and build already having the TS3.
I can make that happen! I ordered everything to be as close to the same spec as far as loft and lie goes.. Already tried the KE4 with amazing results honestly but could not get past the cast feel. Hoping the STi2 is a better results but the TS3.5 may prove its point and saying its here to stay.
Just a little visual comparison of the TS3 & TS3.5.
As you can tell the TS3.5 is visually thicker from all angles. Be interesting to see the performance difference.
1 thing i notice alot is they share the same round sole profile but looks less exaggerated on the TS3.5 because of the added width.

Per Britt on the GW forum the XC2 is basically the TS3 and the XC3 is the TS3.5 and was co-designed with the Maxfli Team based off the TS3 platform but with design tweaks such as the ceramic, etc. This is a brief summary and not a verbatim quote.

So got a few hits in on the TS3.5 & STI2 Gen2... Now this is just a limited test and no actual data is being post yet as I have only gotten these on the sim and nothing outside yet.
TS3.5:
Looks like a GI iron with thicker topline
Same finish as the TS3
Face/Grooves physically feel identical(didn't have my measuring tools at the time)
bent to TS3 stock specs
Clicky sounding
Feels like a hollow body iron head
Performance was slightly better than my current TS3. Ball flew slightly higher but spin was the same.
STi2 Gen2:
More rounded toe and top than the TS3 but
Love the darker Satin brushed finish
Face feels "rougher" while Grooves feel deeper (no actual measurement yet)
Same specs as TS3 stock specs
Sound is a little louder thawk compared to the TS3
Feels a little firmer than TS3's on mishits but same on flushed shots
Performance wise was better all around than the TS3. More back spin and More height on all shots
So as an overview the TS3.5 was a bit of a let down... I don't mind it as far as performance and feel so could be a direct replacement but the thicker topline is off putting coming from TS3's. Unsure how the thicker sole will perform off real grass. The STi2 Gen 2 on the other hand may be a solid choice for the bag to replace the current TS3's.

I have a full set of MMB-17's I need to do something with, potentially move them on.
Why are you replacing the TS3?
I have been searching for an iron to give me a little more height and a tad more forgiveness on my mishits while maintaining a decent look and feel. Been very hard to find something better than the TS3 honestly.
I felt the same way about my STI2 Gen 2.
After hitting a few of the Malty irons last weekend I am going to start a new build project with the TS4s I absolutely loved them and for being a blade they are incredibly forgiving!
