Here is what I say about Maltby clubs -- 11 of my 14 are Maltby and I love playing with them -- great feel and very well made.............

Would have been helpful.Which he would have shown the data for each club - ball speed, launch angle, peak height, spin, dispersion, etc.
I'm guessing it would be good enough for a range of iron heads at least with similar lofts. My only experience with this is I was fit into KBS Tour Lite shafts with T200 iron heads. I went the DTC route and went with the KBS shafts. They are working fine, but probably not the optimal option for me with them.So... first off, i am NOT well versed in golf tech, I don't look at launch monitor numbers... nothing. Hell, i don't even use a rangefinder 95% of the time because the batteries are always depletedThat said, i have a shaft and fitting related question here....
Last year, I had ordered up a Maltby TS3 6i with an AMT white (stiff) shaft after some back and forth with the guys at Maltby on what to try, based on the shaft in my current clubs (Ping AWT 2.0 stiff) which have been really good for me.
The Maltby club came in and looked great, but wow, definitely the wrong shaft for me. I think it's just way too stiff for me ? When i struck it well, the feel was great and the ball flight was excellent but for the most part, i really lost track of what the head was doing through most of the swing... Anyhow, I gave that club to my nephew who is simply crushing it so, it wasn't a waste of $
Anyhow... now my question - If i just go get fitted for a shaft, is that shaft appropriate (generally speaking) to a wide range of iron heads? I assume yes, but really don't know. Since Maltby is DTC, I'm not going to have the luxury of going to a fitter and having him/her snap a bunch of different shafts into a Maltby head during a fitting, like the other irons i'll be testing in the Spring. Hey, thanks for your suggestions.
Have them swingweight using the grip you plan to use.Question for the builders here.
I’m reshafting a set of Maltby TS3 irons (6 through PW) from Modus 105 Stiff into Dynamic Gold 120 S300. Standard playing length. I’m also switching to a Golf Pride Tour Wrap Midsize grip, which is about 58 grams compared to a standard 50 gram Velvet.
I prefer a final swing weight around D2.5. My question is about the best way to have these built at Second Swing in Minneapolis.
Should the builder swing-weight the clubs using a lighter 50 gram grip as a placeholder and then install the midsize grip afterward? Or should they install the actual midsize grip and target D2.5 with that grip already on the club?
I don’t want the heavier grip to throw the final numbers off, but I also don’t want to overthink it if the right answer is simply “build to D2.5 with the real grip installed.”
For anyone who has done similar builds with DG 120 and midsize grips, what approach worked best?

Personally, I can throw a set of Dynamic Gold or AMT Tour white shafts in just about any iron heads and they will be close to optimal, simply because that shaft profile fits me so well. Other folks may not be so lucky. What works with one head may be total crap in another. The only way to really know is to get fit, unfortunately.So... first off, i am NOT well versed in golf tech, I don't look at launch monitor numbers... nothing. Are you in the US? If so, are you anywhere near Newark, OH? If not, do a search for a reasonably close fitter who might work with Maltby gear. Might be a long shot but you never know.So... first off, i am NOT well versed in golf tech, I don't look at launch monitor numbers... nothing. I’m in Connecticut…. I was planning on checking out a few fitters and asking if they work with Maltby… it’s probably a long shot but, can’t hurt to ask…Are you in the US? Google results say Titleist T350 and T200 are very similar to TS3s. You could tell your fitter you want to only try those heads.I’m in Connecticut…. I was planning on checking out a few fitters and asking if they work with Maltby… it’s probably a long shot but, can’t hurt to ask…

It is for me. I've played either Dynamic Gold or AMT White for 25+ years, in a variety of different heads.Anyhow... now my question - If i just go get fitted for a shaft, is that shaft appropriate (generally speaking) to a wide range of iron heads?
I did this and worked out very well. I also tried a range of other shafts and now understand why I'm able to play 2-3 certain shafts in almost any headSo... first off, i am NOT well versed in golf tech, I don't look at launch monitor numbers... nothing. Post your area and possibly meet up with someone....I wished someone around my area had some TS3s with graphite shafts I could try out for fun. May have to order a couple from Golf Works and give them a test go.
Honestly really interested in these and there performance. Just hate the loftsKe4 Max Forged look sweet. Was at Newark last Friday for their Black Friday Sale. I've got a golf shop full maltby clubs in my golf room. Everything they make is top notch.
20 grams of grip weight equals about 4 swingweight points, which would need about 8 grams of head weight to get the same swing weight. It depends on what YOU want.
D2.5 with a 50g grip is a lot different than D2.5 with a 70g grip.
They'll have to add a lot of weight to the head with the midsize grip.
I am 35 miles west of Richmond, VA. Most of the TS3 reviews are really positive.Post your area and possibly meet up with someone....
I've honestly never heard a complaint come from someone trying the TS3's other than maybe the ball flying to high
I struggled with the TS3 set in '24 - likely because I built them with steel shafts instead of graphite. I'm going to try a graphite shaft on them to see how much of a difference it makes. I don't know that they will permanently displace my Halos, but I like having a couple sets of irons.Post your area and possibly meet up with someone....
