Over the last six months, I have developed an affinity for the wide blade-type putter. Those who like them would say that they provide some of the benefits of a blade and a mallet. I would love to see THPers post about a wide blade that they really like.

Here is a limited Piretti Matera with a flow neck and deep millings. Finau has used a putter similar to this for some time.

Here is my Toulon Chicago, out of the Garage. I don’t think there is anything that could get me to sell it.

Here is the new Cobra 3D printer-produced putter. Another plumbers neck. The SIK face insert puts such an immediate, true roll on the ball. This is another putter that I don’t see myself ever parting with.

I'd considered trying a wide blade, but I haven't found one that really speaks to me. I would have likely tried the Scotty Cameron Squareback 2, but sadly it's only available in RH models.

I've yet to roll this style putter, but I'm very interested in them. Between the Toulon Chicago and Cobra Supersport, I've been doing a lot of reading. Cant wait to read more here!

This is an Evnroll 2B. I truly love this putter. I believe the tech story with these putters is real and provides benefits. This putter feels very satisfying to roll and I love the grip.

I have considered a wide blade face balanced putter but have never pulled the trigger on one. I am a mallet guy and do agree it would likely provide much of the forgiveness with a more conventional look.

That Evenroll looks really good to me.

I've pondered playing with a double wide, but haven't bit yet. I prefer mallets, but a double wide would be fun to try. That Toulon sure does look nice!

It’s a gorgeous head. I ordered it with the heaviest weights offered by Toulon. Combined with Stroke Lab, its balance feels very good to me, but I have an affinity for heavier feeling putters.

I like heavier feeling putters also, so a nice heavy double wide might fit the bill. And combined with Stroke Lab? Yes please!

That more consistent speed off a mallet is what I love about lag putts with the mallet. Can usually hit my mark speed wise, this giving me a more reasonable 2nd putt. I enjoy the feel on shorter putts that a blade provides. And this combination is what has driven my ponderings on the wide blade. I'm trying to find something that gives me the best of both worlds.

Along the same line, trying to determine what the downsides of going mallet to wide blade are. Just need to test it out.

Would think that a Bettinardi QB6 fits the bill on a wide blade putter. Have this QB6 being modified to my putter specs from last November at Bettinardi.

is this the cobra putter as an example?

I'm really pleased with my Odyssey Stroke Labs Black Double Wide:

I'd been rolling a SeeMore Si5 mallet but wanted to try something different. @Canadan's Toulon Chicago give-away got me to thinking about a DW. Solicited recommendations here, that Odyssey was recommended more than any other, they had 'em discounted at CPO. Done.

I roll that Odyssey far better than I did my SeeMore mallet. I've even tried going back to my mallet. It now feels kind of clumsy in my hands.

What about a squareback?
edit - I see it was posted.

I’m using the odyssey O Works 1W s which is a wide blade. Having used a mallet for years, my putting has improved so much moving to this putter. A couple of years in, and not even close to coming out of the bag.99AD1433-ACFF-4DDE-B4A7-DCFE62AB2294.jpeg

I like that one a lot.

I have the Odyssey #1W as well and it has been pretty good for me up to now - I have been tempted by the Triple Track 10 but haven't had a chance to try it yet

I play the Bettinardi BB8-W. I will get some pics in a bit.

I ended up trying a swag savage too center. Heavier head, easy alignment, amazing feel and the center shaft all fit what I want right now. After going with big mallets for a bit, then back to a smaller mallet this feels right. Now, that could change tomorrow but for now I am happy and think this is a good alternative for many players as it gets some forgiveness but in a package that isn't as drastically different in a large mallet.

The Scotty Squareback was my go to for a long while, now I'm full a fledged small mallet guy.
