Wildlife Seen on the Golf Course

Last time out we saw: a crow track down and east a baby sparrow (that was pretty gnarly); Hawk vs. multiple crows; a squirrel playing chicken running across the fairway; several deer just off the fairway in the trees; a coyote trotting down the cart path; a big group of ducks near the water feature; heard a wood pecker pecking wood and an owl doing its thing. Whew - that's a lot in one day!

Saw a friendly fox 🦊 jogging down the fairway. He caught himself something by the first green and he moseyed into the woods.

Saw a momma muskrat with her two babies yesterday next to a tee box here in Ohio. That was a first. Cute lil things

I had a doe standing 15’ in front of the tee box yesterday. The more I tried to run her off the more she stood there eating clover.

Saw this guy while dew sweeping yesterday morning and thought it was a cool shot. Must have been the omen for my impending double bogey.

Saw this one today right at the back of the tee box.

This was actually a week ago. This small two point was acting like he was a big boy in the rut. I watched him chasing does all over the course.

Walked past a Black snake 5 metres from me that looked like a tree branch, hit my ball and carried on and someone on the Green told me about the snake but I didn't bother it and it didn't bother me. Maybe I was lucky and 5 metres was just far enough away, black snake's are poisonous if your bittern...

My two best were before cellphones so no pix 1) a large snapping turtle maybe 18" shell walking across a fairway 2) redtail hawk with his talons in a squirrel just on the edge of the woods like 20 feet from a tee box. i got like 10 feet away and he just looked at me. Both in NYS and on the same course actually now that I think about it

IMG_4034.jpegIMG_4041.jpegThis coyote walked right up behind me today and scared me lol. No fear at all. We then saw the same one playing with another over by the 18th fairway!

This big boy was sitting the the fence next to the first tee box eating his lunch.

Missed them but got mom’s pic. Then we had one run in a bush after a rabbit and about 40 quail came out with the rabbit. No animals were harmed lol. A huge herd of Javelina on 18 at dusk when we were finishing. Only a few deer today. That is the most bobcats I have ever seen in one day.

Those look like some well-fed bobcats! I can't believe the quail are just sitting around chilling that close to the 'cat.
