WMX Hyper+ Midsize and Hyper+ Jumbo Grips

I'm going to be doing that in week 3 - outdoors! Could have done it today if I didn't have so much work we had like an inch of rain.
I was thinking next week as well want to dial in on the feel a bit more this week

I’m in the same boat. I’ll be honest in that I initially scoffed at the price. But all the strong reviews here made me finally jump, and once I got it in hand, I was sold
I think it is a big factor, especially in grips where you need to buy 13 of them. But the old adage is so often true: You get what you pay for. I am glad to hear folks who have used the other version chime in on durability thought that is big, but it also tends to run with the quality aspect as well.

The course is closed for me from the 5th to the 18th, so were stuck with just nice indoor swings while I try to get a tee time. The one thing that is sticking out to me is how the material chosen has fantastic tack without being overtly soft. It has also retained this feel across a wide range of temperatures for me. On some grips they can get kind of hard in the winter/cold and this one does not. It performs admirably and definitely gets very high marks here.

Forgot to update this after using yesterday in my round on my 8 iron. Up to this point most of my feedback had been on my 60* wedge which I adored.

Having used it on full swings now, I was REALLY impressed by how firm it felt during the course of the swing, even though it feels tacky and kinda squishy to the touch when feeling it on its own. There was no feel of it being TOO squishy where your fingers are pressing into the grip.

It's tough to describe in words, but I am really really happy with these and will likely be adding them to my full set once available. The one word to describe the grip is QUALITY. I have high hopes that the durability will be there and from reading previous WellMXS reviews it seems like they in fact are long lasting.

Great great grip overall!

Yes the Jumbomax is too squishy to me. This has a nice gradient to it when it comes to firmness. The less force you put on the grip the softer it feels but when you make a full swing the grip has a nice firmness that you can feel the club head better.

Reading through these comments has me thinking about feel beyond just the hand-to-grip interaction. My experience with the WMX Hyper + lines up closely with what others have described: it’s soft but not squishy, the texture is secure without being overly aggressive, and the outer surface is tacky and durable.

I did want to add another dimension to the feel discussion that became more noticeable when I moved the grip to my 7-iron and took some full iron swings. What stood out immediately was how well the grip transmits strike feedback at impact.

For reference, I was hitting an iron warm-up sequence yesterday (5-iron, 7-iron, 9-iron) using three different grips in my current setup:

Jumbomax Small, which has a stable inner core but a very soft outer layer
WMX Hyper + Jumbo, which has a firm core with a tacky, controlled outer layer
Lamkin Sonar+, a soft, rubbery grip without a stiff core

All three are jumbo-sized, low-taper grips, but their impact feel was very different.

With the WMX Hyper +, I felt like I could clearly sense both the club head position and the ball-to-face contact better than with the others.

The Lamkin, with its squishier surface, seemed to absorb the sensation at impact, making the strike feel more like a dull “mush” than true ball contact.

The Jumbomax transmitted more vibration up the shaft with its stiffer core, but its softer outer layer muted the impact sensation to the hand, reducing that crisp feedback I look for.

The WMX Hyper + was the best at transmitting ball feel without becoming uncomfortable, it delivered clean, distinct strike feel without crossing into harsh territory or causing uncomfortable hand sting on mishits.

TL;DR: The WMX Hyper + doesn’t just feel great in the hands—it also provides excellent impact feedback, giving you a clearer sense of ball contact while still protecting against harsh sting on mishits.

Spot on

Can someone one help a “Skimmer” and tell me (Oops) when these will be available to purchase?

WellMXS all day every day. But start a thread!

What thread? Did you use air?
So range time with the driver. I had the jumbomax tour on the blue tr and the wellxms on the Artera gray. Both shafts have similar feel to me but one thing that stood out going back and forth was how much more I could feel the head with the XMS vs the jumbomax. That the jumbomax is a very good grip but with the squish I struggle to tell with the head is and how I’m releasing it. That was not the case with the xms. There was no sense of twisting and I could reliably (for me at least) tell where the head was. That was a fun sensation

I’ll check but I thought I saw something about late February.

Feels like having these on the driver especially can be so impactful to the feel and control of clubface

I am working on putting together some more quantitative numbers around this with both 7 irons and driver as the testing continues

Just wanted to add if there are questions or concerns people would like more info on in relation to these grips feel free to add them. I am happy to add things to how I am testing if I can.

For me you guys have been hitting on all my questions without me asking

Same here. I am super happy to do more in depth review for any specifics anyone is interested in

Feedback on a shot is an important aspect for sure.

Its clean feedback too that is the part I am having trouble describing to some extent its not that shake your hands it hurts feed back its of that shot was on the heel or that felt toey clean feed back.

This is a post I was hoping to see! I love this feel comparison

surely there’s got to be one we haven’t answered
Hmmm. For those of you coming from non-tapered grips, what are the benefits you are seeing and how are you planning on testing it moving forward?

I am going to hit driver feel hard this weekend as well. Focusing on a firmer grip (MCC, Jumbo Star 360 as that a mid firm natural rubber, and a Jumbomax Small and maybe a couple more if the shafts I purchased on whatnot get in on time as I will have a couple extra spare shafts tipped up)

I think it just helps me feel it better in the swing. I know for a lot of people it helps with the hooks

I haven't noticed a ton on slower swings. Since that's all I've been able to swing so far, I can't speak on faster swings yet. But I'll be getting to the sim here soon to test a the midsize WMX against a standard WMX in driver!
