Keg Thrower
Well, now that demo day has come and gone I can get back to doing what I love, and that's being the official shaft tester for THP. When I found out I would be testing 2 shafts from Yonex I was elated. I've always appreciated Yonex's participation with THP as they've been a fixture at the last couple of Demo Days but this will be the first Yonex product I've ever been able to use.
A big thanks to Yonex for sending some shaft offerings to THP for review and thanks to THP for sending them my way.
I received two shafts, both the Rexis NP (NP stands for Nanopreme I believe, and both are in Stiff flex. I have no spec sheets or no PR statements concerning this series of shaft so I'm pretty much going into this testing with little amounts of information. At first, that's a little daunting because I like knowing what I'm working with, but the more I thought about it, the more I like not having that information. It means I will literally be reporting what I'm seeing on the golf course.
I do know that the red Rexis is the "high launching" model because it says so on the shaft sticker. I know that the orange Rexis is the "mid launching" model because it says so on the shaft sticker. Other than that, I'm not sure about much.
Testing will be conducted in a 9* R11S driver and will be conducted on neutral settings. I love the stock grips. They are Tour Velvet's with a lovely, simple "YONEX" stamped on them.
Here's some pictures for everyone
Now, I will be testing the Red Rexis (the High Launcher) first. I had it in the bag at the range the other day and if Yonex claims this is High Launching then I'm tickled to get to the Orange Rexis b/c I was seeing an absolutely awesome ball flight. The shaft feels great and easily can hold up to my swing.
More thoughts to come soon everyone!
