Once and for all, it’s “Hurt,” covered by Johnny Cash. Don’t make me come and post in this thread again.

Just about EVERY song he covers is gold.

If you like Johnny Cash there is a great cover of Bob Marleys "Redemption Song" by him and Joe Strummer ( The Clash). And if you like covers of Johnny Cash songs there is Social Distortion covering "Ring Of Fire" which is pretty good as well.

My dad was a real cowboy, clear to his core. Johnny Cash was one of his favorites, so I listened to a lot of Johnny Cash, not by choice. I wouldn‘t say that he is one of my favorites, but that cover “Hurt,” is just so full of emotion and given that it was near the end of his life, it always has resonated.

That my second favorite. My favorite is Chris Cornell's version of Billy Jean (Michael Jackson)

Chris Cornell had one of the most impressive voices of our time.

All the Chris Cornell talk made me remember this: Chris Cornell covering Metallica's "One" with the melody of U2's "One"
