Your Left Brain is a Lousy Golfer.

Once I stopped “analyzing” my shot and started picturing “what a good shot would look like” my game went to a whole new level.

So I'm very left brained, but I don't think I over analyze my shots or the conditions .. I think I turn off my brain for the swing as well, but who knows

I think I agree with this. When I was playing my best golf, around scratch, I could go around my home course in almost a "thoughtless" manner. Not that I ignored data. I got my yardage, noted the wind and the slope, and then just stood beside the ball and decide on how the shot "felt"! It could be radically different from the yardage only figure. But I don't remember a lot of mental gymnastics going on then.

Now, this was on my "home" course, that I knew like the back of my hand, I could walk 9 in an hour and 15 or an hour and 20 if no one held me up. And my game was "tuned" to that course.
