Curious question for THPers.

1. It has to be a vacation destination
2. It has to have history
3. It has to have good food
4. It has to be walkable

What are your favorite spots?

The only winter vacation trips I've taken recently are THP events. This should be a fun thread to follow.

Yeah I was just going to say where ever a thp event is :)

I thought for sure you were going to go with Lake Placid.

For winter vacations, i.e. skiiing, snow, etc., my pick is Tahoe. Skiing and casinos are always a good combo.

1. Vegas
2. Vegas
3. Vegas

Use to go to my wife's grandparents house in Sebring FL every winter. I could live there!

Haven't taken to many winter vacations but since Paula isn't a fan of cold and snow it take Colorado, Utah and NYS out of the picture.

My choices would be Vegas, DR or PR.

Are we talking cold winter vacations? If so, Stowe, VT is my absolute favorite. Depending on where you stay, there's a good number of places you can walk to (The bike path is open all year - it's more of a ski/walk path in the winter), and the food is absolutely a highlight.

That is completely up to the person. Cold or warm, works for vacationing.

If warm,

La Quinta: great golf, good food, good crowd

St. John's: awesome snorkeling, great food, very scenic

Anguilla: terrific food, first class resorts and service, very chill

I also agree with Vegas, but I actually like Vegas in the fall the best during football season. It's too crowded during the winter.

1. My house with the heater running
2. It is a Victorian style house built in the 1880's
3. My wife is a terrific cook

Not trying to be a smart a$$, but my family does not do cold very well so we have never even thought about going to a winter vacation spot. If we travel anywhere, it is to warmer climates such as Boca Raton, FL to visit our daughter.

Stowe is definitely awesome but I'm kinda biased because i lived 20 minutes away haha! Cold id be choosing ski resorts like Stowe or out west it would be Whistler and maybe Park City or Snowbasin. If I'm looking to golf and warm id be searching around FL or Myrtle Beach. Disney trip is always fun but i obviously don't have to tell you guys that haha with the events and all.

Easy for me, Breckenridge and Tahoe. I have gone many many times and love the atmosphere, food and people.

Honestly...that would've been a GREAT answer; however, the food is always hit or miss up there. You go to a restaurant one year and love it, the next year and hate it, and so on.

I'm assuming this isn't for a golf vacation. I would go with Key West, Quepos Costa Rica and St Aufustine. I don't do cold weather so I'm not going north in the winter.

Being on a normal person's budget I haven't been to any of the spectacular places, so I've got more pedestrian options. Warm weather would be So. Cal. The cold weather spot would be Sun River (near Bend in Central Oregon), which is a great resort that offers skiing at nearby Mt. Bachelor.

Yeah honestly having spent a good amount of time there, i wouldnt exactly put it on my list of must go vacation destinations haha. Its nice but so so compared to many others

Great choices, Bear Creek near Vail and Estes is has been a family go to for a while.

And 99% certain I'd never vacation from 1 cold place to another that sounds suicidal

Love Key Kest. Just so laid back and fun. Lots of food and fun.

Disney World.

Or if Disney World doesn't work out.

Disneyland.
