Travel Case Smell?

I recently bought a used SKB hard case travel case on eBay. It’s got a terrible musty smell. I’m guessing from storage. Anyone have any tips on how to get smells out of travel cases? Sprays didn’t do it.

Use could use baking soda or cat litter to get rid of smell and cedar after cleaning

I was going to suggest vinegar and water. If you can put it in a spray bottle that would work even better. Wipe it down good. We used it to get mold off of horse saddles that have a musty smell.
 
Go buy three pairs of new golf shoes and stick those little moisture absorbing bead packs they come with in the case :D
 
I bought a case and had a similar experience: stinkiness. Packed it with newspaper and in a few days it was largely gone.
 
I was starting to suspect the foam was the culprit. Just to make sure it’s gone I ripped it all out and am going to get some new foam and spray adhesive to replace it. It must have gotten spilled on or something.
