Happened to me a while back. Switched to a CC for everything, much better to have it that way instead of having the risk of your checking account being drained.

Probably going to end up doing that. I hate to pay the large bill every month, but it's worth it for the piece of mind.

I pay it off twice a month. Track it the same as I do for my checking account.

Plus rewards. You just have to not spend more than you normally would if you see more money than usual in your checking account.

Exactly why I track it the same as I did my debit card.

The Official Rant of the Day

Postal workers (at least the ones at my local branch) just proved to be some of the laziest people on the planet. I was to receive a package weighing 45 pounds that was not delivered today, and the reason on the card was it was "too heavy ". They want me to drive out and pick it up at the post office. Seriously? My kids each weigh more than that. Man the **** up and do your job. Sometimes that may in fact require you to get out of your truck.

And having worked at USPS headquarters for a time, I know for fact that laziness isn't just limited to the delivery crew. It's little wonder that organization is swimming in debt like it is.

Criminals have figured out that credit cards get you caught. Probably looking for cash and gift cards.
This. We got robbed in a Vegas casino once. We found the wallets with CCs, etc in a trash can. Hotel security said exactly the same thing.

That's crazy cause the postal here delivered a 91lb dresser to my house and put it by my porch

Rain today...

In November I'd just rather have snow...

Ok maybe not, but the rain still sucks!

Could we borrow your postal workers for a while then?

Clutch died today. 4 days off work and it broke at the end of it. If it had broke on Saturday I could have fixed it myself but I'm back at work tomorrow so its gone to my mechanic mate, big expense, just what I need before Christmas.

Slimy people and who they work with. Got the equivalent of eBay sniped on a deal when agreed to terms and while it's legal, it's also pretty slimy.

Nothing better than being woken up at 4:30am with the sweet sound of the city's tornado sirens going off! Now that is what I call a wake up call!

Stay safe!

Diverticulitis flared up again with fever this time and stupid me went to play golf on Sunday. This spell hurts. Doc agreed to refill my script without going in if I scheduled an appointment. First availability...Dec 30th...lol.

At least there is 10" of snow on the ground and still falling...good day just to stay in.

I started putting up my Christmas lights last night, trying to take advantage of the nice Ohio wearher. I laid the net lights out across the bushes in front of the house, plug them in, all working. Start adjusting them and a portion right in the middle of one of the nets goes out. WTF?? All or none damn it. Now do o try and trace the problem or buy new?

About 10 more people let go at work yesterday, including one of my better work friends. Luckily, the department I am in has been untouched for a while. Let's hope that doesn't change anytime soon.

I must be one of he last houses on my guys route, some days after he delivers my mail he just stays parked at the end of the street for 30 minutes reading his phone. Almost like he doesn't want to get done early and be assigned more work, or have his route extended.

I never try and troubleshoot. Not worth the effort.

I buy 50 strands of 100 count lights every year at the lowes Black Friday sale. If the old strand doesn't work it goes in the trash.

been sick the last 3 days now. ugh.
Better now than 2.5 weeks from now.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Our dog is getting admitted overnight, ultrasound of her abdomen tomorrow with possible surgery if they find a blockage. :-(
Sorry to hear Amol. Good luck with the pup.

Quasi rant for me today. 19° and everything was frozen (grass, trees, road…) while driving up through the Adirondacks today. It's amazing how different it can be just an hour north of where I live.

Thanks Pete. Just got the word that the ultrasound found something in her stomach that needs to come out. Endoscopy after 1 PM to try to remove the object, I'm going over to the animal hospital now to stay with our dog until that happens.

Just do this. This is all I do, every year.

Hope its something minor Amol. My parents dog had this happen last year and it turned out the dog was eating the rubber mulch in the landscaping. Scary for sure.

Exhausted doesn't even begin to describe my state of being. Up from 10p-4a with screaming child. Off to work at 6a
