Most epoxies should be able to survive trunk temps. I wouldn't attribute it to that. My clubs almost never see the indoors. Trunk->course->trunk, rinse, repeat.
If it's ferrule creep try the dab of epxoy before sliding the ferrule on.
With steel, many of the shafts are tapered so the the ferrule wedges into place. With parallel tip shafts, which most graphite is the ferrule has more opportunity to slide.

Unfortunately I've had both on multiple sets of irons over the past few years. I thought it was a club builder issue, but switched club builders & had the same issue.
