I'm as green as can be but I found this solution.
Driver: All too often I was burning the worms. Solution, I scrubbed the face of my driver with a Scot Brite pad until there is no pattern other than that of the pad. Then hit a ball and check the face of the driver. On mine there is a dimpled pattern of the ball. The pattern was at the bottom of my driver. I went to a longer tee and positioned it until I was centered. End of topping.
I did this on the course with my wife and had the same positive results. Give it a try.
