Canyon Gate is probably within 10 miles of the strip. West on Sahara. Then there's the classic Las Vegas Country Club that's right off the strip.any close to vegas strip, or 10 miles away?
had the EXTREME pleasure of playing Southern highlands this last week...played it several days in a row...
From a total course perspective, this was a 5 star property (have played a LOT of places) and this is easily a top 5 location for me...
Course condition, was exceptional!!!
one of the only complaints some have had with this course is regarding the bunkers and sand..they are in the middle of replacing Sand in all the bunkers and fortunately I did not get to experience much of the bunkers...
greens were impeccable, not a ball mark on any green, which is saying something since this was a corporate outing, but largely was a caddy issue, as the caddies were fantastic!!!
Our caddy was Chad, who was, after two holes just one of the guys, treated us incredibly well, shared wisdom on shots, knew the course very well...really appreciated the staff on the course as well, Pro Shop was VERY nice, and my rental car was parked between a Bentley, BMW...
The pro was great sharing nuances about the course, and where to put the gas pedal on and where to be careful....hopefully the pics share some of the value!!!!
The Summit
Good to see SH is back and in great shape. I played it last August and it was beat up from some kind of turf outbreak. The layout and clubhouse was awesome tho.had the EXTREME pleasure of playing Southern highlands this last week...played it several days in a row...

I live out on the west side of town. Red Rock Country Club is quite nice, plus the 2 TPCs out here. All of which I’ve never played, but I did play the public Arroyo course which is the sister course to RRCC and it was pristine. Arroyo shares facilities and some cart paths with RRCC.
Oh man, I have been dying to play there. It doesn't help that I live right near the course.
Those pics are incredible. This course is one of the reasons UNLV is able to keep local talent and attract out-of-state talent, as Southern Highlands is their home course. I also see Kevin Na post pics of him practicing there as well.
Wish I could make this trip work but the timing is on my wife’s birthday.
I’ve been dying to play Southern Highlands for 2 years and just can never make the timing work.

Did you see Mayweathers house? I think it was #14 fairway.
I’m heading to Vegas in a few weeks and will only be able to play 1 course. I was deciding between:
TPC Vegas (relive the THP Bridgestone Event) - $125
Red Rock CC - $175
Vegas CC - $195
Or after reading this thread, should I see if my local pro can get me out on SouthShore? If he can, any idea what green fees would be?

Las Vegas Country Club is open to the public or you have a reciprocal arrangement (to pay greens fees) ?
My local club in Ohio is part of www.PrivateClubNetwork.com. Las Vegas CC and RRCC are the only 2 private club options in Vegas through the website.

Vegas CC is practically on the strip...Red Rock is Way up in Summerlin area...about 30 minutes depending upon traffic...
Red Rock is MUCH more exclusive up to date, LVCC is VERY cool from a historical perspective, and ok from a course perspective...
Definitely. Don't miss it if you have the chance to play it.Great thanks!
Not sure where I got south shore from, I meant Southern Highlands. It sounds like that place might be the best if I can got on?
