Golf Goals for 2018?

It's good to start planning goals early!

1. Play with my buddies from Myrtle Beach
2. Get to a 4.5 handicap and keep it under 5 all season
3. Spend less money on equipment
4. Increase my strength and flexibility
5. Get a putter fitting

I have one goal and that's to work on putting all Winter long. Maybe find a new putter to work with and commit to it all year in 2018 and get off the revolving door of putters. Or not.

1. Make more time to play
2. Get in better golfing shape
3. Finally take some formal lessons
4. Play more with THP'ers
5. Get in as many events as possible, I would like to get in at least 1 per year.

Goals for 2018

1. Play more rounds
2. Attend a THP event
3. Get GHIN below 5 and keep it there
4. Improve approach shots
5. Shoot a sub 70 round.

Wait. Do you still play golf? We need to do it again. It's been too long. That works, or a full - on road trip to Lincoln.

I did forget to mention that I will be moving to Omaha in March of 2018. So I will get to know more of the Omaha courses a little bit better than I do now, which could be fun.

The Goal: consistently in the 80's.
The Plan: Hell if I know.
The Backup Plan: Weep silently in my dark basement.

I'll get into my 2018 goals when I know my 2017 season is over!

I am still holding out hope for at least another few rounds, anyway.

Just play more. The winter season here is just taking off, and I'll play on my day's off every week now.

Should also add a bogey free round. Have broken par numerous times but this one alludes me still.

Being that golf season ended exactly halfway through 2017 for me, my one and only hope is to be able to play injury free in 2018.

Played once last week but the back is still not there. Any play from here til the end of the year is merely my dipping my toe in the water to test progress.

Great thread Rambler!
1. I would like to get my wife involved in the game I love! She is a great athlete and I would like to enjoy the game with her.
2. Play with THPer's more and hopefully have the chance to go to an event next year.
3. Shot in the 70's consistently and lower my handicap to 7 or lower.
4. Stick with the clubs in the bag, the club ho'ing has to stop!
5. Guys trip somewhere new to play some new courses

1. Play as much as I can with my friends

2. Get to shoot 76 for the first time ever.

3. Be able to throw out my ball retreiver- no water balls

4.NO MORE SLICES off the tee box.

5. Enjoy everyday on the course.

1) Take a few lessons - improve my game (esp. off the tee w/ Driver)
2) Play with some local THPers
3) Get out as much as possible - second child coming in June!
4) Enjoy the game and take it slow
5) Golf trip out of town/state

With a new job I'll be playing a lot less.

1. Just have fun on the course.
2. Attend at least 1 THP event.
3. Eradicate my 2 way miss off the tee that troubled me all this year.
4. Play in Arizona when I go out for my daughter's graduation in May.

Continue to work on whatever I consider my next worst mistake and only work on one thing at a time.

Firstly, to groove starting my downswing with my hips. Ultimately leading towards more GIR. I only need another 10-15 yards in total

Play as much as life allows and have fun doing it.

Play as much as possible and keep improving my game

Have fun, play more consistently, break 80, and get to a single digit handicap.

Golf Goals for 2018?

Have fun, play competitive golf as often as possible. Make a run at some sort of mini tour.

Play with THP guys!

If I can’t accomplish that, it’s to teach more often and grow the game/make young people more interested

1A-Continue to work on my game to get my handicap to single digits.
1B-Get into some THP Events!

The season is still going for me. First 5 months of 2018 I’d like to build confidence or trust in my tee game by limiting bad thoughts in the backswing. Be more consistent in approach shots to reduce strokes lost. And get out there often.

The second half of the year: Find golf courses near wherever my next tour is and just play golf to get used to any differences.

Coming back to the game

Coming back to the game

Pretty basic:
1. Learn to hit my new driver and my woods consistently
2. Play at least a round a month
3. Break 100 finally, and on a regular basis
4. Don’t take it too seriously, have fun

Bag is set for the year other than wedge upgrade in the spring so money is going towards two goals 1) buying a super rat 2) trip to San Diego for some golf and a trip to scotty cameron gallery. Goal 1 may be accomplished befor two or at the same time
