Leaving tomorrow for Orlando to do the Universal/Disney thing with my son for his birthday, and catching the Steelers game on the way home Thursday night. Looking for any recommendations on places to eat from the locals in either place. Not looking for anything specific, just delicious, though sushi will happen at least once, probably need to try a grouper sandwich too!

We always go to Cowfish several times when in Orlando. It's by Universal.

In the Burgh should try a Primanti Brothers sandwich. They're big but an institution. Despite having lived there seven years and having made many repeat visits, have not done one yet. It's on the list.

Lots of good places on the North Shore where PNC and Heinz Field are located. Hope you get to come through the Fort Pitt Tunnel in daylight - one of the great views in the world. Have your cameras ready.

If you have time, it's worth it to take one of the two inclined planes to the top of Mt. "Warshington."

Almost the same advice I got from a coworker with family out there. Not sure we'll have time as we fly in at noon and leave early the next morning though, unfortunately. We're taking the ferry to the game though, which should be cool.

On a visit to Pittsburgh, we ate dinner at Gaucho Parrilla Argentina, which was phenomenal. So much good meat. No reservations, crash the counter style restaurant.

A trip up either incline is pretty neat. The walk between the two is really nice as well.

The casino has very reasonable drink prices and table limits, even after a game.

+1 on the Primanti Brothers, great sandwiches which are huge!

Both of these will be happening, probably all three to be honest haha!

If you have time you to Fogo de Charo on International Drive in Orlando, just a great Brazilian Steakhouse and IMO much better food all around then Texas de Brazil.

Dragon Fly sushi right down the road from Seito is both better and more unique.

Just walked by it, will check it out. Thanks!

Thanks, JB, that's why I wanted to get the local info. Tripadvisor only knows so much.

best sushi in orlando is fuji sushi on lee road. it’s what i️ would consider authentic and very fresh. but i’m not much of a roll guy. if you want crazy rolls, sushi pop on e colonial is really good.

the best steak in orlando is up for debate. linda’s la cantina on colonial is very old school, and makes great pan fried steaks. eddie v’s is also excellent. christners on lee road is very high end albeit in a terrible location.

best sandwich place is big a’s sandwiches in the milk district. i’m also a big fan of toojay’s.

lombardi’s on fairbanks ave has some pretty awesome fresh seafood for lunch. it’s a seafood warehouse so it stinks like fish but the food is really solid.

best tacos are at mi gordita loca on lee road. it’s not close imho.

best bbq is probably bubbalous. a lot of people like 4rivers. it’s good, i’m just burnt out. people also love pig floyd’s. it’s pretty good, but stupid expensive.

best burger is at the tap room at dubsread. it’s freaking fantastic.

most all of those recommendations are near downtown. if you want recs for a different area, let me know.

Thanks, doing the theme park thing, so staying at a hotel on international. Not adverse to traveling though.

flying fish is probably my favorite restaurant on property. la hacienda de san angel in epcot has great carnitas and margaritas. chatham’s on sand lake is a quaint place with really good food.

Primanti Brothers is a must and try to go to the one in the Strip District, the atmosphere and all the stuff around it are great. Jerome Bettis Grille 36 is great and it is right by the stadium but that place can get crazy packed. When we went there my wife had seen a dish on the menu she wanted but that night they were not making it. The server went back and to the kitchen and they made it just for her. The chief came out and spoke to us and said that he hopped that we had a good time and that she was happy with the food! I can't say enough things about that place.

Here We Go Steelers!

Restaurant Row - Sand Lake road;
Sushi - Nagoya - try the Fire Mountain Roll - http://www.nagoyasushi.com
and basically right next door - the absolute best most authentic GELATO you will find this side of Italy - La Carraia Gelaterie - http://lacarraiaflorida.com - their other location is right by the Arno river in Florence, Italy :)

Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone!

I’d do dragonfly before Seito. You also have Amura sushi which is very good.

Season’s 52 is in the same area, Roy’s, Fleming, Oceanaire. (All in Sandlake)
