We have a rotating group of about 15 players, 6-8 of whom show up any given week or two that we play. We alternate between tournaments and cash games, sometimes both in one night.

It’s as much about the poker as it is about the scotch and cigars really.

Any other players here?

Yes sir. We do a league every 2 weeks. Has both a spring and fall season. 20 players with a cash table as people get knocked out

Nice! I wish we could get that many core players going here. There's about 4-5 of us who are always ready to play, another few who we can usually count on, and then the rest are about as reliable as CL buyers. Lol.

I love playing poker but it's been awhile....don't have a local group so need to work on creating one. Need some casual stuff to get back into it before hopping into anything a bit more serious.

I play. No where near as much as I used to though. Oh, and only at casino as I hate home games.

I have a regular Tuesday night gathering. Usually a small cash game. FYI, Josh at apache poker chips is having a sale on chips.

If in Texas come on! Would be willing to get to three tables

I'm in a game that plays the 2nd Thursday of every month. Half the cash is distributed each night, with the other half going to a final table after 12 games. Have to win one of the 12 weeks to get into the final table. 20 or so people, with an average turnout per month of about 12. Final table starting chip count is proportionate to points assigned each month. More points (higher finishes / wins) equals more chips at the final table.

I play. But golf sort of overtook poker as my go to vice and money sucking hobby that I'm not as good at as I think I could be.

Only 4 to 6 days per week during non-golf season. Live 10 min. from casino.

I used to play professionally... meaning my only income. It was tough. A lot of ups and downs. Couldn't do it anymore.

Here's the part of my basement where my friends and I play. Under the wood top is a felt top, wrapped cushion and coasters. Only setup for 6 but can get 10 if needed.

Don't play too much during the golf season. Once it gets cold we play every couple weeks.

Had a regular game that grew into a huge game with too many high rollers that would bet on two flies landing on someone’s head. Had to leave but it’s starting up again.

Neighborhood games once a month mostly

I live 10 mins away from Commerce Casino. I play every now and then. Sometimes I win $100 or $200, sometimes I lose. I just play for fun TBH.

I used to play A LOT back in 2008-2010. Both online and in casinos. I need to get back into it. It is so much fun. And a good challenge.

I play in a league. Meets once a month and consists of about 15-16 players.
We only play Hold 'Em tournaments. League has been around for about 13 years.

Absolutely. Cash games only. Mostly mid-stakes.

Used to play professionally and semi-professionally.

Last year or so golf has taken over though.

Now rather than making a few hundred bucks I lose it.

Yes used to play 7 days a week. I truly love playing but I look at it more like a job than fun.
I never drink when I play unless I'm having one of those nights and then it's a double of Bourbon at midnight no more.

I really miss the golden days of Party and Pokerstars.
I used to play alot of Tourneys but now I am mostly a cash game player at Mohegan and Foxwoods when I can find the time to play.

My biggest tourney was the Main event at the WSOP. Which every poker player should play once in their life. Someday I will play it again. If anyone wants to back me with 10k I'll play this year. Let me know. I would even wear a THP hat when I make the FT.

Peace

Just got back from Vegas where I played a couple of sessions. I ended the trip up, which was nice considering how little I've been playing lately.

I play in a league every two weeks. It's season long and you get points for where you place each week. The end of the year there is a championship tournament for the top 10 points. We usually have 20-28 players each week. It's pretty competitive and a lot of fun.

Poker is second only to golf in my life. I have been playing part-time (mostly online) since turning 18 but also play the underground games in Los Angeles and CT. Any other serious grinders out there?

Good to know. There's a group of us on my side of town that get together semi-monthly. There are sometimes 2-3 tables going, generally a $20-40 buy-in unless it's a special occasion. I'll keep you in mind when the next game is scheduled.

I used to grind online and the local 1/2 games but life has gotten in the way.
But I can talk poker for hours. I love to play as much as I love golf.
