For those following the Gauntlet Live Update thread, you probably heard some jokes about the wonderful drink known as Malort. Well here is a quick video with Ethan explaining what Malort is, and THPer amsmith giving it a taste.

Haha awesome. I expected Aaron's reaction to be much worse.
 
The taste going down isn't so bad. The aftertaste though is straight up awful.
 
And by straight up awful he means I would rather lick the bottom of a strangers shoe
 
Glad this didn't happen in Chicago 2 years ago. That just sounds gross.
 
Awful after taste is a serious understatement!
 
I feel like the video cut off just as the aftertaste was kicking in for Aaron. Haha.

I tried it tonight for the first and probably last time. My initial reaction was just pure confusion. My brain truly did not know what to label this beast. It's mostly heat to start, with a definite strong kerosene/propane note to it. Then wood, then ash, then a persistent finish of burnt rubber. Do not trust the faint licorice smell, I tasted NONE of that. On the positive side, some complain of a roadkill note, luckily I didn't get that at all. Sometimes, there is no "why". I hope this helps...

I do not favor this idea
 
I would literally never drink again at a THP event if that were the case.

I would again with Ganot though.
 
Maybe it's meant to be drank with gefilte fish???
