I got contacted Tuesday morning looking for tax ID/Social Security # to put down as the receiver, then maybe 20 minutes later I got an email from UPS needing to pay for the duties. I paid it online (it was quite easy) and then tuesday night it was "cleared". Delivery came in Thursday.

Possibly paying the duties ahead of time might have maybe saved a day, but I don't think it would have mattered.

Also, I paid for my shipping using their loyalty rewards as I didn't figure I would be getting out to Toronto again anytime soon.
    Good info. Thanks!

Fascinating "reviews" with Chris V. of Mizuno on Mizuno products. The shaft optimizer video was informative and had a lot of good tidbits in it but the ball....that was interesting.

I did see some similar results from my own testing (just my eyes, no launch monitor). The X has more spin is firmer and launches lower. Now with the TXG robot swinging he sees the added benefit of consistent distances and really I don't really test that for myself. If I can find my ball and have a shot it is a success. I will go out in my next round with the RBTx and keep the iron spin in mind for approach shots. That may mean taking extra club for those back pins and getting the ball all the way back there. Good info.

The piece about Cut balls being sold out because of their review was a little funny too.

Quick update on my fitting, I got in the clubs (irons/Hybrid/Fw wood & putter) from TXG last week. It took about 4 weeks, takes about 3 weeks for builds (Ian had told me 14-16 days, I assumed business days), and I think there were a couple delays getting components in to Toronto with the crap weather in February and then they got held up in customs for 2 days. It was a long wait and I probably wore out the office staff at TXG asking them for updates but man it was worth the wait.

I got one practice session in, and my swing was.... not great. I wasn't sure about putting them in play for my round saturday (it is the first round of our clubs 2 man team match play) but figured what the heck (except the putter, wasn't ready for that yet) and got to it.

Well, I shot my 2nd best round of the year despite back to back holes where I tugged my drives left OB and went double/triple. I hit my irons better than I have in probably 9 months, hit 8 greens and missed 2 others short but right at the pin because I didn't account for any wind (and wasn't sure of distance on these new sticks and erred on the side of me being He-Man like most recreational golfers). Funny enough my putting was pretty bad, so when I go back for the 2nd round (we won and advanced!) this weekend I will probably have the fitted EVNRoll in the bag.

All in all it was a great experience for me and I will update on how all the equipment works out for me in the long run.

Any more updates on how the new clubs are doing?

Mine finally arrived yesterday....and they are beautiful! There's nothing like a shiny new set of clubs staring you in the face.

I can't wait for a break in the weather here in Upstate NY so I can take them out for a test drive.

Today was my first “real” round with them as the last couple I was either on the verge of death or playing a 6+ hour round the last couple weeks.

I have 4 total rounds in and my average driver distance is 16 yards longer than it was with my previous driver.... that is from Arccos so the stats are pretty accurate.

Now, my longest drives are not that much different than they were with the previous driver, but I hit 10 of 14 fairways, with 1 being a real weak wipe (my miss for the last 5 years) and the other 3 being very playable.

That too me is AMAZING. Again using Arccos my strokes gained over the last 20 rounds is about a 24 handicap, today it was that of a 15. So my swing is still not great but this club gives me so much more consistency it is great.

Irons I feel very comfortable with them and think the shaft is giving me a lot more consistency (there is that word again) in strike. Normally all of my missed greens are short (like 90%), today I was short 3 times, left 3 times, right twice and even long twice. Both of those were shots that hit the green but released off the back (hard greens today) and was able to get up and down for par both times.

I have gone back to my previous putter, as this weekend is a big club tournament and I am comfortable with it after 2 or so years.

Overall even though the trip/clubs were not cheap I think it will pencil out in the long run as I am not even considering other clubs.

I will keep updating as to me it is very much about the long term with this but a month or so in I am quite pleased.

Another round in and my average with the driver went up by another 4 yards... so up 20 yard over what it was 6 weeks ago. Part of that could be warmer/drier weather, but I didn't play that many rounds in the rain, and today was cool and quite windy. Also hit one today that went 265.... that is a big hit for me so the not being any longer than my previous driver on the best hits... that might not be true.
