Captain Awesome
Moving this out of PM for all the world to laugh at my ineptitude. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Freddie, but I'm sure that'll change at some future THP event.
Tadashi, I hear you're the swing guru who can fix all my ails Ha, joking of course but I can use all the advice you have. About 2 months ago, I was playing some of the best golf of my life. I worked my way down to a 3.5 handicap throwing 73-78s all the time at the courses I frequently play. A week before going to San Diego for #TheHandCraftedExperience, I completely lost it.
I'm still really good inside 150 yards (9 iron down). The 8 iron is my transition club between pretty good and completely lost.
Everything just feels off right now. Everything is a low bullet or a low hook. Most everything has a harsh thwack at impact. There is nothing that I can do to get decent contact and produce the high draw I was hitting. Literally 2 months ago I was pounding drives and shaping shots at will. Everything just feels completely off now. Whenever I get that "thwack" at impact my balls are going about 70-80% of their well struck distance.
I've put 4 videos below. Two with a gap wedge which I hit just like I wanted to, and two with a 5 iron that where low bullets (and actually much better than what I was hitting on the range, but no way these things would hold any green). Please take a look and let me know what you think. I greatly appreciate your time. Just let me know if you have any questions, or need to see anything else.
GW face on:
GW down the line:

5 iron face on (low bullet probably went 160-170 yards instead of the well struck 190-195):
5 iron down the line (low bullet probably went 160-170 yards instead of the well struck 190-195):
This video was one I did for the event and it was the week I transitioned from bombing it to losing it. Thing's were neither good nor bad this day. Just ok:
