Sony Open week 1/8-1/14

This week the tour stops in Honolulu for the first full field event of the calendar year. Last year Thomas records a 59 on his way to winning the event and answered the critics about not being able to win in the U.S after defending his CIMB Classic title but still faced critics about not beimg able to win in the continental U.S and we all know how that turned out with a PGA championship win and Dell technologies Championship. This year he is defending here with Bones on the bag while his regular caddie revivers from effects of Planar Fasciitis.

what say you THP does JT repeat, do we see maybe a first time winner or will one of the top guys on tour walk away with the championship?

what do you think are some other potential stories that could come from this week?
 
If DJ doesn’t try surfing and get hurt he could do some damage, coming on top of Sunday’s win.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Would be nice to see that. Iirc they were paired together when JT dropped the 59.

I think it will be interesting to see Peter Ueihlein and any other rookies in the event. I haven’t looked at at the full field yet to see any others but from a quick glance there’s some good young guys in the field

Should be fun, a lot of people can go low here.
 
Looking at the field, JT and Spieth are definitely front runners, but I think quite a few people could take this. I'd love to see Wes Bryan get the win honestly.
 
Aaron Wise is another rookie I'm looking forward to seeing this year. Interesting field with some guys who have had past success but haven't done much lately, some that had high expectations of doing something on tour and some young guys like Schaufele, Bryan, Uihlein. Jimmy Walker has had success here. Best part is it will be on in the evening time.
 
I’m heading to the course for shotlink training now! I’ll post where I’ll be working when I find out. If any of you happen to see me on the course on TV, take a pic and post it and I’ll send you some Sony Open swag!?*♂️??
