Disney World - 2015 THP Bridgestone Championship

I sit here on 3.5 hr flight and reminisce on this past weekend...
My family and I arrived in orlando tuesday before event weekend. While we had a great time and I devoted all the time to doing family stuff, I couldn't help but be excited for friday. Kind of like a high schooler anxiously waiting through school week lol. No practice rounds and the clubs staying inside travel bag until Friday night was a bit of torture. Fast forward to the meet and greet at planet holllywood in disney springs. It was a great venue and fun times as all the golfers and the families socialized over a relaxing meal.
Saturday round was a bit of guess work for me lol. Having not touched clubs in almost two weeks (that's long time for me lol), and trying to figure out my yardage on clubs lead to inconsistent round of golf. Plus I could not make a putt!!! However bad my golf was, that was severely outweighed by the fact I got to meet Sam (manlai) and Dustin (jaysfan, my partner in crime for the weekend). And I got a round in with a friend from the past mward. Sam was steady off the tee, always providing wardy a chance to just swing freely and let it rip. Wardy was on fire as he sank just about every putt he looked at. Maybe I should look into this aim point stuff (insert my best Callaway Jrod impression here). Dustin? Well I told him no sorry's on the course but I owe him an apology for my poor play on Saturday. My 82 was horrendous.
More shenanigans at buffet Saturday night at Villa Flora. Great food. Apparently my kids made quick friends out of Freddie kids and they continued their escapades from Friday night. I got to have some time with wubears as well and really enjoyed getting to know him. (Hope your son is doing well buddy!)
Golf Saturday I had the pleasure of playing with Jim54 and v.man. team old guys they say but I say team steady! Ken missed 1 fairway... I thought it was going to hail cats and dogs lol. Ken and Jim played very solid golf. I had to warn dustin as these guys will lulliby you with their steady play and sneak in a good round. My play was much better (shot 73) but alas it was not enough to overcome a huge lead jhoeffer and hammer had. Those two played lights out and deserve the win. Jaysfan played solid golf shooting 80 both days (I think?) I could not have asked a better partner and I enjoyed the time on the course with him for sure.
Well another event in the books and once again I am amazed at how much fun, excitement, and value THP continues to pack into each and every event. Thank you Jb, Morgan and our resident party planner (mikedean441)!

What a great event ! I always love the end of year Florida events. Big thanks to all the THP staff that made it happen, great as always.
The reason I keep coming back is the people. Great practice rounds with Jitzy, Jaysfan,Malai and Wubears71. Thanks Tim for making the extra rounds happen.
What a great roommate in Malai. When you have never met or talked with someone and then get paired with them in a room for a big weekend it can be make or break. We had a blast, shared stories and spent sometime outside of golf together. I’m sure Sam and I will be playing together again.
Next my playing partners. Barberakb-Aaron. Lost his partner and still had a great attitude. We had nothing but fun on Sat. Sunday it was Fupresti & Orange Hog. Fupresti drills a 240 yard 4 iron right down the middle on the first tee. I’m thinking “ holy crap we have our work cut out for us ! “ Orange Hog was as cool as always !
Finally my partner jhoefer99 ! What a great dude! We hit it off and our games meshed very well. We played well off each other and keep each other head in the game. Best line of the weekend from Jed. “If I start to think just tell me what to do”. He delivered time after time !
I received some bad news the day before leaving for Florida but used this event as way to blow off some steam and clear my mind.

Was a pleasure Kang,we both didn't have our A games. We tried our best,had 2 wonderful rounds with great memories. It was a pleasure meeting you finally,we complimented eachother nicely and game though when we needed to. It was a learning experience for me ,one which I will always remember sir. You are a stand up gentlemen and hope to see you again soon.
It was a pleasure to play the practice round with you at Grande Cyprus, that was a steller course and a great bunch of THPERS who attended. Thank you for letting me smack the Bio cell much appreciated sir. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to meet afterwards except for the parting ways at the club. Congratulations again sir,well deserved.
