2016 Ryder Cup - Attendee/Volunteer Travel and Meetup Thread

After searching the forums I haven't found a thread dedicated to attendees and volunteers at the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National. I know volunteers have been selected and (at least some) ticket lottery winners have been notified so I figured it was time to start a thread for the THPers who will be attending to post meet up ideas, travel plans and ideas, and lodging plans and ideas. This way THPers could meet up to watch the golf together on course and maybe we could plan an informal dinner somewhere around Chaska.

Right now my plan is to fly to MSP on 9/24 and back to MIA on 10/3. I'll be staying in downtown Minneapolis and am planning to attend every day.

Great idea for a thread, hopefully we'll get a bunch of THPers to meet up and hang out.

Hox, Jjmorris, Perkis and I have got tickets for Sunday. Our early plan at this point is to go up to MPLS area on Friday and play some golf Friday and Saturday and attend the Ryder Cup on Sunday. Not sure where we're staying at yet.
 
Ugh, I still need tickets.
 
Solid thread. I am only 5 hours away and really thinking about getting up there for it.

My parents live in Chaska definitely will be there.
 
This is the closest the Ryder Cup will be to my for at least the next 6 years...I'd really like to get up to this, but funds are going to play a huge part. Serious ponder though...hard core serious pondering going on right now.

Also the same reason I started this thread so early. Flights and rooms will probably book up quickly so people with limited flight options might want to be looking and booking.
 
I'm bringing a couple California buddies back with me for the weekend and we are all staying with a friend in Prior Lake. The golf courses in the area could be pretty crowded so we might head up to the Brainerd Area for a few days of golf after we attend the Ryder Cup on Friday.
 
Sounds like a great plan. Brainerd has really good golf. I live in Prior Lake and am still trying to figure out my plans.

My good buddy lives on the east side of Prior Lake on Rustic Road. I grew up in Hudson and then the Twin Cities area including Burnsville, Eden Prairie, and Woodbury. I've been in California since 1998 but my heart is still in Minnesota. We will be playing the Classic, Cragun's Legacy courses, and maybe Deacon's Lodge that week of the Ryder Cup. They already jacked up all the prices on courses in the Twin Cities during Ryder Cup week so we thought why not have a guys weekend 150 miles north in Brainerd. My wife and I will retire to Gull Lake for the summers in another few years.

I am in the same situation. I'm making it a priority to go since it's only a 45 minute commute.

I'd add Chaska Town Course to the list. Phenomenal track.
 
I agree regarding Chaska Town Their Ryder Cup rates are not bad.
