Looking For Testers: TaylorMade M3 Irons

At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.

    The Irons
    From the company
Packed with performance and refined to suit the better player’s eye, M3 irons offer distance, forgiveness, and control for the serious golfer.

    INTRODUCING RIBCOR TECHNOLOGY
A breakthrough innovation in irons performance; RibCOR is designed to help you hit it LONGER, HIGHER, and STRAIGHTER. RibCOR localizes face flexibility, transferring more energy to the ball to increase ballspeed and promote straighter shots.

    SPEED POCKET
Speed Pocket technology improves low-face flexibility to deliver more ballspeed in the key area where golfers commonly mis-hit.

    FACE SLOTS
Face Slots enhance face flexibility in the heel and toe areas to preserve ballspeed on mis-hits for greater consistency.

    TUNGSTEN
15-gram tungsten weight optimizes CG placement for improved launch and stability.

    Criteria
THP will select a group of THPers to test the irons out.
You must be a THP Forum Member
You must be active on the THP community
At the end of the forum testing, the clubs is yours to keep.
Shipping of test products is free for 2018 Albatross Club Members only, if you are not a member, that does not mean you cannot review products, but you will be responsible for the shipping of products.

    Testing Process
If selected it will be your job to put the new clubs in your bag and update the review thread with feedback on your findings. This is community testing and will need updates for an extended period of time (a couple of months). Remember the only THP rules are honest feedback and the commitment to the review period. If you are looking for info on what forum testing feedback should look like, check out one of the many review threads to see how others have fared.

To participate you must be an active forum member. Being active on THP has its benefits and product testing is one of them (monthly testing like this). If you are new, that is okay, being active is more than just tenure.

    Rules
This is not a contest, so there really are no rules. All we ask is that you make a post in this thread and answer these questions. Please have an answer to all questions and be specific. Please note, we only have RH sets to send out currently.

    1. What irons are you current playing?
    2. What shaft and flex are in your irons?
    3. How do the M3 irons fit your game?

Keep in mind if you are not chosen for this, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future here at THP for testing and other product trials. Stay active and you will have a chance to be part of these awesome testings we do here.

Awesome opportunity!!! Currently playing Callaway Big Bertha irons (2015 model) with UST graphite shaft in lite flex. Would love to be able to test these M3 irons, heard so much about the ripcord that I think could really help me game. Have the M2 driver and love it. Thanks THP and TaylorMade!

    1. What irons are you current playing? Callaway XR (2016)

    2. What shaft and flex are in your irons? Stiff steel but I would prefer regular graphite if I won.

    3. How do the M3 irons fit your game?
The ribcor tech is intriguing but what i'm into the most here is the feel and forgiveness. I've never hit TM products before outside of the M2 and R1 drivers. I think these are fit for my game simply because they are different. Going from 360 cup face and alloy to these irons would be a welcomed upgrade i'm sure.

Ever since we talked about this in the other thread I have been wondering about how I would do with the M3 irons with recoil 110's 1* upright....

I don't believe I ever tried them with that shaft combination.

    1) Currently play Taylormade P790 with NDMC grips
    2) Recoil 110 Stiff bent 1* upright
    3) I think the forgiveness in these Irons would be a good test to see if they rival

    1. Currently playing Wilson Staff C300 Forged
    2. Shafts are Nippon Modus Tour105 in Stiff
    3. As a low teens player aspiring to reach single digit Handicap the M3 appear to offer forgiveness and distance in a package small enough to still include workability and solid look and feel most players would find appealing.

Looks like a great opportunity to me too! I play the 2017 M2 Irons in regular flex. I have been looking to make the transition to an iron a little more workable as my game has improved while retaining some forgiveness. For example, I love the M2s but they are very difficult to make a big draw or fade without some serious face manipulation whereas I’m able to do that with my wedges and hybrid just by making slight set up and face changes. I would love to see if the M3 Irons will allow this.

    Thanks!

    1. What irons are you current playing? Mizuno Hot Metal

    2. What shaft and flex are in your irons? Project X A flex 4.0

    3. How do the M3 irons fit your game? I believe even though they are considered to be a better players irons I still think that with technology these irons are packed with that a mid handicapped player can still game these irons. The ball flight and the forgiveness they give would be great for me.

Looking For Testers: TaylorMade M3 Irons

Thank you THP and Taylormade for this testing opportunity.

    1) Bridgestone DPF irons

    2) KBS Tour 105 Stiff Shafts

    3) The Ribcor technology would be a huge game changer if I can improve my launch to higher and if it would help hit it straighter vs my gamer that would be huge for me - 15 gram tungsten weight for better CG placement is a great addition as well

I think the XP100 shafts would be a great comparison to my current gamer shaft as well

I've been slowing moving toward new irons for a while now. These sound awesome, any TM irons I've hit have been LONG... and surprisingly, worked alright for me. These look awesome, irons have been a solid part of my game and I'd love to see if these could improve that.

    1. Nike SQ machspeed (I said I've been looking for a while now, I really want to see what new tech can do)
    2. Steel regular flex
    3. As I said, every tm iron I've hit has been a full club longer and felt great (I kept flying greens with a rental set once) I really want to see what the new M3 RibCOR can offer (and test the forgiveness out).

    Thanks to THP and TaylorMade.

    1. What irons are you current playing?

    Callaway Apex CF-16 4-AW

    2. What shaft and flex are in your irons?

    True Temper xp95 stiff

    3. How do the M3 irons fit your game?

Based on the description, it should help my game in two specific areas that could use some assistance. This includes longer distance and the speed pocket technology described above. My previous set of irons were R7's, I had nothing but good things to say about those clubs at the time, but eventually needed a new set. It would be nice to hit TaylorMade clubs once again.

    Thanks for the opportunity

    Currently playing Rogue Pro Irons
Shaft- KBS C Taper Lite (Stiff)
Fit to Game: I’m not sure how they would fit, the Ribcor tech reminds me of the tech that Callaway deployed in the X2 Hot Irons. It would be an interesting comparison between the Rogue Pro Irons & the M3 Irons.

    Currently play: Cobra F6 irons
    Shaft: Stock stiff steel shafts
How do the M3 irons fit my game? I dunno to be honest. Haven't tested them. But I understand the intent of the technology to launch the ball high, and retain speed across the face. I'm not really one of those guys who sweats the loft because I understand how it's structured in terms of inducing higher launch. I like long irons that can double as a driving iron.

I was tossing the idea between these and the P790s so this could be really interesting for me.

    1. What irons are you current playing?
TaylorMade M2s (P790s just came in the mail today)
    2. What shaft and flex are in your irons?
In the M2s NS Pro Modus3 Stiff flex In the 790s I will have the KBS $taper stiff
    3. How do the M3 irons fit your game?
I really think the forgiveness that is built into these will truly help me. RibCOR sounds awesome and would love to see how that helps me on the actually course and not a simulator.

I was lucky enough to test the RSi 2s here (which was my main set for 4 years) and I hope to test these too.

    1. What irons are you current playing? Mizuno MP-25
    2. What shaft and flex are in your irons? True Temper XP 105 in Stiff Flex
    3. How do the M3 irons fit your game? I'm a low trajectory hitter and I think the Ribcore would help me launch it higher without losing distance. It would be curious to see the monitor numbers.
