Just saw the Miami play again broken down on ESPNU. Really feel sorry for Duke. Officials totally blew this game ending play. Player was clearly down before a lateral. Even worse were THREE blocks in the back and two of them were horrible.
I found it laughable that Miami was celebrating a win over Duke like it was a National Championship. How times have changed.

Never have I been physically threatened as often as I have, as when I talk to Nebraska fans.

There's even a guy who's coming to Nebraska from Washington to kick my ass.

Because Nebraska has the greatest fans in the world.

Hahaha.

Heated college football conversations on the Internet should be avoided.

Wasn't even really that heated.

It went from me saying that Nebraska hasn't won anything since Solich, and that I don't find 9 win seasons a head scratching loss, and struggling against FCS teams acceptable, to I'm gonna kick your ass.

It fell apart a bit on my end after that, mainly because I would find it absolutely hillarious for a grown adult to fly half a country across to me to kick my ass over sport.

It's absolutely comical. If he does do it, he's gonna be pretty disappointed when He gets here and promptly gets place under arrest since I already forwarded the conversation to the police.

You've posted your thoughts serval times on Paul Johnson so I'm aware of how you feel. Chop blocks are illegal and are personal fouls. We frequently use legal cut blocks. Here's some news for you every team playing college football uses cut blocks. Very often used by RB when blocking lineman or linebackers in the backfield. Our lineman do use cut blocks. They are legal. They don't cause injuries. We use them in practice every single day against our own team.

And I love the triple option.

Congrats to UNC on the big win. In the drivers seat of the costal by themselves.

You are 100% accurate.

agree to disagree. but thank you on the congrats, that's very gracious of you. good luck the rest of the year. are you an alum? do you follow GT basketball also?

I'm not an alum. I graduated from a small liberal arts school here in Georgia. Have always been a Tech fan from a small kid. I'm a past season ticket holder, I now have 2 kids in college so dropped my tickets. My son is a senior at Tech.

Used to be one of the biggest college basketball fans you'd find, from the early 80's through the late 90's. I could name the starting 5 for every ACC squad back then. Slowly my passion died. Killed off by the one and dones in the game and the Paul Hewitt years at Tech. I don't follow basketball at all anymore, and rarely even watch during march madness.

You do realize he was pushed down and into the DT by your DE right?

The DE was in on it

So the argument went from "It's totally legal and nothing to complain about" to "THEY MADE HIM DO IT!"

he's going for the DT's legs as soon as the ball is snapped.
The RT was going to block the outside linebacker but the DE pushes him down and into the path of the DT who was on rollerskates

Cut blocks are totally legal, chop blocks are not. I'm sure GT does Chop block on occasion, just like every other program. When a player misses his assignment it can lead to a chop block.

It appears to me the tackle is trying to shoot between the gap to get a block on the linebacker who is coming across the field towards the play on the opposite side.

I'm not a GT fan, and am not defending the program, that play just looked like an unfortunate incident, not a dirty play.

If you want to see a text book chop block, check out this one.

i don't know how to embed twitter on here, but this is an example of what i was referring to. UNC right tackle injured on this play due to a chop block.

That's called an "evade to backer" move in the triple option offense. Backside tackles do it on almost every single play. He got pushed down by the DE when the RT did his job by not letting him cross his face. If you actually know what you are looking for, it's a clear football play and an unfortunate circumstance to get hurt. But totally NOT a blatant chop block.

The officials from last night's Duke game have been suspended 2 games for multiple errors on the final play. Including not calling the Miami player down before the ball came out along with multiple missed block in the backs. Nice to see but it doesn't matter because we still have the L

Duke had a lot of big breaks in college football over the years have they? Weird, I cant think of too many.

It's a new day for Duke football that fans/alums are upset about being 6-2. But whatever, onto beating Carolina this week.

No question about it. The ACC is an underrated conference and Duke will be fine.

I do enjoy the U's response to the ACC's ruling and officiating from last night's game

I love this thread.

We need SolidKJames back please.

Hes confusing the football program with the basketball team

ACC is a joke

ACC is a joke

So after suspending the officials and admitting they were wrong, the conference later in the day awarded Corn Elder "ACC Specialist of the Week". Yes he's the guy who ran the kick back for the winning touchdown.

Good thing Regional Rivalry is coming. Ohio vs Michigan.

I bet the Ohio team is all Buckeye. Might be a split on Team MI, a little Sparty, a little Blue.

Team Michigan would encompass way more than the state of Michigan. Probably close to 49 states in all.

Texas would probably hold out, though...
