I think its a HUGE problem as the outcome of a shot/score has been changed, thus the preservation of the game for players to preform has been diminished. PGA (plenty golf n alcohol)

I ran into two such guys on Friday. They were over served and acting a fool. They made comments about two women and were quickly told to shut it down. Didn’t hear a peep out of them the rest of time we stood there.
My point is that there are knowledgeable fans that will squash any shenanigans. I think if Rory were playing better, he might not notice. I surprised he is as low as he is with his poor ball striking.
Just like with all things, why limit the rights of the few when a handful of people cant control themselves? I say instead, if someone is being unruly, simply escort them off the property. The problem isnt alchohol, the problem is people are jerks.
How about just police the fans that cause problems? Yell something inappropriate? You're out. Be an ass to other fan? You're oit. Thatseems mich easier to enforce than a drink limit to me.
And compared to other events, the beer at the Masters is practically free. Absolutely no issues there with any buffoonery.I really am surprised how many think limiting alcohol is the best solution. Throwing out the bad actors, whether drunk or sober, seems like the best solution, and doesn't restrict the ability of the tournaments to sell hospitality with unlimited drink packages.
As mentioned by Tkapp, the Masters serves plenty of alcohol and has very little issues, because they immediately shut down any buffoonery. The tournaments and pga are letting the attendees get away with murder.

Interesting enough, but the Masters doesn't seem to have this problem and they sell beer at a pretty cheap price too.
EDIT: just saw the few posts before me concerning the Masters. Agree.
He's not wrong.
Here's a controversial take, make tour stops dry. I bet the tomfoolery goes way down.

Hahahahaha
You did learn about prohibition in school right? There are way to many easy ways to sneak booze in somewhere and trying to screen 30,000 people just isn’t feasible.
Booting obnoxious people is the best answer. It works at concerts and everywhere else. If you can’t behave you get the boot and your name is flagged. Come back in and you go out with the police for trespassing.
Yes, but so will attendance and the money the tournament makes. Watch other prices go up as well. All sporting events have issues with idiots drinking, it should be up to the facility/event to handle or remove those being a distraction. There are too many people that can drink responsibility while enjoying an event. Unfortunately there are the few that can ruin it.
