The Powerball and Mega Millions Wanna win it thread

5 tickets and not a single number. There should be a consolation prize for that. I wanna be a Billionaire, so freakin bad...

It's 2 bucks in entertainment as far as I'm concerned. Any win is fun. 6 wins is a ton of fun haha

What's the commit for Wednesday?

I think my mistake was getting five sets of numbers for the last drawing. Need to buy only one ticket and go pure luck or bust I think.

Yea we did two, one for each of us, and that seems plenty IMO.

I guess I'm interested in basically becoming a billionaire overnight though. Seems enough cash to quit working and go hardcore into traveling and becoming really good at golf haha.

Probably $30....definitely $20.

I think we are going 30, or 50

I would probably have a heart attack if I won. If I do win, I am still going to do what I posted above. Although I'm going to be making it first 3 pages of the top posters of the Month for the current month. As well as the Albatross membership... Yep but making it $15,000 a piece instead. On my personal tickets. Happy Lottery THP.

Will be getting $30 of personal tickets.

What kind of appearance fee could I anticipate for each of our rounds together after you won the lottery?

It would be free to watch me suck it up. I wouldn't charge a fee. However, I would cover your round and beers.

I'll be doing the same as last time, 10 bucks spread around Mega Millions and Powerball. I got 4 Megas and 3 Powerballs last Friday but since the Mega got won, I'll go 4 Powerballs and 2 Megas.

I'll probably put in on the work pot, $6 there and probably around $10 for my own personal tickets. I've hardly ever gone past $20 on a single drawing.

Thinking between 20 and 50 for this week. depends on how much I indulge tonight at bowling. But I figure for a cool half billion, why not.

I'm thinking about dropping a hundo. I lose it at the casino, why not give this a try. I don't think I've ever purchased a lottery ticket before.

I'll do a hundred again but I take it out of the account my scratch off winnings are in so basically the state is buying my tickets haha.

When I win I'm buying an island, it's 8 million and in the Bahamas.

Here's a slideshow of how much you would get, based on the state you purchase your winning ticket, if you are the only one! (Based on $1.3 Billion) I think we should start calling it $1.3 Brazilian.

First thing, I would quit my job.

Second thing, I'm buying Flightscope(s).

$1.3B lump sum after taxes comes out to nearly $487M cash. Now let's say you go absolutely nuts and spend $15M buying houses and cars and gifts and vacations and everything. Say you've got a $460M nut to throw in a brokerage account. Using rough numbers and averages, that's going to produce somewhere between $35-38M a year. How do you even spend that as its coming in? You could be a billionaire in 15 years using conservative investing methods. If you really make it work for you, you could cut that in half. All from a $2 lottery ticket.

Or you could go get a couple McDoubles.

I am glad I am part of the (s)

Also, 30 million a year? Sounds like a decent salary for a Staff Writer.

But you can never ask for a raise, haha.

NY is only $28,678,000 Annuity or $533,410,800 cash. I'll buy a $10 ticket, maybe a little more. Not dropping a hundred like some of you though!

Where the heck would you even put that much money?? I'm pretty sure I couldn't just walk into my local credit union and depost 1/2 a billion dollars.

lol and now I'm getting messages about an office pool. I remember doing one back when Mega Millions was crazy high once, took 5 from each person and then split them up to have people buy from different areas. We won 3 bucks.

I'll probably put $10 in again. I don't feel comfortable throwing more money away then that. Plus I think I have $4 on my ticket from last drawing so I'm really only spending $6. This is also dependent on what the accountant/boss agrees to.
