Picked up some used 5-W F7 one length irons, just wanted to hear some different opinions of woods or hybrids to start playing with. I don't plan on carrying the full set of irons.

Willing to spend $400 ish or so on 2 other clubs, but less is always better.

TaylorMade M2 3W and 7W?
Driver and 5W?
Just a 3W?

There are a lot of good options in that price range.

The Callaway XR or XR16 woods are very good, and you can find them in good used condition for very good prices.

Depending on what you want for a tee club, I’d go either driver/5w or 3w/5w.

Cobra makes some really nice woods and hybrids also.

I’ll second the XR and XR16 woods. I liked them and they were easy to elevate off the tee and off the deck. Maybe start with a 5W and then decide from there. If you hit it well, maybe a 3W. If not, maybe a more lofted club. If you can resist the temptation of getting a driver, the 5W should be able to guide your next need. If not, I don’t think any of us would fault you.

I was going to say Callaway XR 16 as well.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone:

Had to travel for work, so I just recently finished piecing together this first set without spending a fortune.
