I'm sure this is beat to death eslewhere on here but I need a few more posts.

I'm currently using the same shafts for going on 10yrs now.

As to durability? Never, if properly installed and properly care applied.

But over time one's swing can certainly evolve. A person can outgrow their shafts through improvement and increased speed/strength or the reverse wrt age or injury, a lighter more flexible shaft may be called for.

Only time I have done it is going from steel to graphite.

I broke a shaft once clean at the hosel which I had to have replaced - does that count? The rest of the clubs are original shafts going on how many years...

Both graphite and steel shafts basically have an infinite life span. The only time I have changed is when I wanted to try a different shaft.

As has been said, shafts really don't have a definable life-span. Basically, since you're a THPer, you just change for the fun of it once in a while. Just don't get rid of the old shafts because you might wanna change back. WMac was pretty much spot on. Unless your swing changes to warrant a new shaft, you're probably good to go with what you have.

Why do you need more posts?
