Water Proof Spray on Golf Bag

Has anyone ever spray water proof spray on their golf bag. I wondered if it effected the color. Seems like it should help protect the bag

Did my ping walking bag with the same stuff I used on my tents I take camping color never changed and it helps repel water but down pours still get in the bag some what

I did on my Grandaddy Bag. It didn’t change the color. I use ScotchGuard.

I’ve used Scotchguatd with good results. I see they have one for water and UV now which is what I’ll use this time around for my new bag. My last bag was almost 15 years old and never faded and looks 9/10 shape aside from normal wear. It’s so inexpensive to not use it.
