SO, what DID and or DIDN'T you accomplish from your 2015 Golf goals?

I did:

* Practice More
* Took part in at LEAST one THP Event
* Met some new THP'ers I hadn't met yet

I didn't:

* Play as much golf as I wanted to
* Improve my handicap from last year, though I had more consistent rounds/scores
* Get that SkyTrak system I've been eyeing

Things i did:

- Got my handicap under a 10
- Got into Love is in the Air
- Got into the Grandaddy
- Hosted my own gathering
- Got my first eagle

Things i didnt do:
- Get my handicap below a 6.3 (It's where i was before the wife and i had baby #2)
- Play at True Blue & Caledonia
- Get my son out on the course as much as i would have liked

Things I did:
It's going to sound like a cop out. But my only goal for the year was to have fun with the game again. Was going to be the first year in a while that I really did not have any competition to practice for. Truth be told, I did that. I enjoyed the game more this year than in the previous years.

Things I didn't do:
Be part of a winning team at #TheGrandaddy

Things I did:
- Got into a THP event
- Became a more active member of the THP community
- Kept an official handicap for the first time
- Dropped my handicap from a 12 to a 4.3
- Met a bunch of great people from THP
- Helped my team win the gauntlet
- I shot even par 72 for the first time
Things I didn't do:
- Improve my short game from 140 and in
- Play ad many rounds with THPers as I would have liked
- Played rounds with my dad
- Walked the course instead of riding
- Keep my bag setup for a year

Did:
* Make it to a THP event
* Met new THPers in Portland and started playing with them regularly
* Helped organize and attended a couple of PNW outings.
* Got more active writing again (course reviews)
* Have success in match play format

Did not:
* Get to single digits (I topped out at trending to 10.4 before going the other way)

Did:
- Took lessons
- Played 50+ rounds
- Got new(used) clubs

Didn't:
- Show any improvement
- Lower my handicap
- Have a golf vacation

Things I did.
My first ever HIO.
Shot a 30 on one side with an eagle, 4 birdies and 4 pars. 34 on a side had been my best ever before that. I don't see it ever happening to me again.

Things I did not do.
Continue to improve, my back pain has come back and I have gone from a 6.9 to a 14.9 and am not too sure I will ever see single digits again.
I still have never participated in a THP team event and again that is something that I don't see ever happening now as I won't enter with my back giving me such bad problems.

I am extremely happy to say that I accomplished all of my goals this year.

I did:

Break 80
Reached a 10 HC
Reached single digit HC
Attended my first THP event
Got my first eagle
Played and practiced more
proved to myself that I can travel my HC when it matters

Some of the things I wish would have happened, but weren't goals until I got into the event:

Win the Gauntlet
Win Gauntlet MVP

My two big goals were to play more and to get better.

I played more. :smile-big:
I didn't get any better.

I did not -
1. Drop my hdcp to a 1.
2. Get an HIO
3. Play in a THP event

I did -
1. Practice more
2. Played my way across the state on a golf vacation with Mrs. Drumdog
3. Got my hdcp to 3 for a few weeks and then I went back up to almost 5.

Didn't break into the teens for my handicap. The reason? I didn't find as much practice time as I would have liked.

Get to single digits. I really need a THP event in my "future plans" as motivation to improve.

Things I did:
1. Got into a THP event (LIITA)
2. Joined a work league
3. Got an official handicap
4. Played more golf (mostly from #2).
5. Updated my clubs (from about 2005).

The only goal I didn't accomplish was to break 80. Guess that's goal #2 for 2016!
Goal #1: Get into more THP events!!!

Accomplished:

1) Broke 90
2) Started getting birdies
3) Got an eagle
4) Lowered HC by 4 strokes
5) Attended first THC event

Obstacles:

1) knee and shoulder injuries

Failed:

1) to improve putting
2) to really improve much of anything.

DID: Game traveled this year. Only failed to break 100 once. And that was taking a 9 one the 18th hole at a decently tough track, playing it the first time. Shot 91's on other courses the 1st time I saw them and generally everthing under 97. This was a big step up for me. Used to always struggle away from home.

Didn't: Break 80 on the home courses. An 82 back in the summer at #2 home course (still chasing PB of 79 there) and an 83 a few weeks ago, which was season low at main home course (PB 82).

Driving was still too erratic but rest of the bag was pretty consistent. I hit hybrid and 5 wood mostly well. Irons mostly consistent and best putting ever. Excited for 2016.

I did:
Lower handicap
Shoot under par on 9 holes

I did not:
Play more golf
Have a higher birdie% than double% (8.95% vs 11.11%)
Hit 40% of fairways (39.59%)
Hit 50% of greens (45.37%)

Did:
Develop that desire to go low each round out. I turned into a casual golfer somehow
All new equipment, happened twice
Play with my mother down in FL

Didn't:
Really only was one, and that was to find some kind of amateur tourney and play. Got lazy.

Worked on my game a lot this year.

Did: Break 80 for the first time since the early 80's (when I was in my 20's)

Didn't: break par for 9 or 18 (next goals)

Looking back at the other thread my only goal for 2015 that i had written down was play more consistent and stay in single figures, im happy to say i achieved that and stayed single figures all year. Going between a 9.9 and 6.3. I seam to be more consistent around the 8.
I never thought about it but i shot a new 9 hole PB of -3 33 on the front 9 at my course.

Also another thing i hadnt thought off but did accomplish was having my very first lesson, which was great. Our local teacher is John Garner and he played in the Ryder Cup and told me a great story about beating Sam Snead. I will definitely be going back for more lessons.
