At the beginning of this year I decided to take this game a bit more seriously by looking for ways to improve my game, invest in some upgraded clubs, and begin to keep an official handicap for the first time in my golf career. I stumbled upon THP while looking for a site/community that could assist with my game improvement goals and provide club recommendations, and boy am I happy I did so. THP's articles and forum topics have helped my swing immensely in a short period of time, and has also led to a majority of the new club purchases I made this year.

In addition to the invaluable advice/reviews provided on this site, it also has an incredible sense of community, which can be rare to find online these days. I would say that is what keeps me coming back the most, having all of these positive interactions with THPers in the limited time I've been a member.

It also doesn't hurt that they put on some incredible events/parties/contests

So what brought you to THP, and what keeps you coming back and interacting with the forum community?

In no order... people, staff, info, reviews... love em all here

I stumbled across THP while looking for a forum to get info from. I quit looking once i signed up here. This is an amazing place and the information available is overwhelming.

I wish this would have been my first stop in forum land. I love this place. From admin to members everything is first class. I was ran out of town with pitchforks and torches at my last stop. The members weren't as friendly and the admin is atrocious. Enough about that though.

The main reason I like this place is the laid back attitude. I've only read one thread that kind of disappointed me here. As many as I read if I've only came across one where some people may have crossed the line, I'd say that's a smashing success and testimony on how great everyone here is.

There is also always something exciting going on. From members winning a once in a lifetime type experience to events such as The Morgan Cup and The Grandaddy to one of a kind items being given away, every day brings excitement. Reading/living the events through others is a great way to pass a boring day! Not to mention the daydreaming of possibly being involved in one of those events someday. It's like buying a lottery ticket and dreaming of winning; except there is a very real chance that one day you will here.

Like 98% of my golf friends are from THP so that's what keeps me around. That and the fact I like sharing my club buying adventures :D.

Mocking Hickstas club buying habits.

Seriously the conversations and I’ve got a lot of friends here, some of whom I’ve even met in person!!

Fixed

Club reviews initially. Now its the people and the brother/sisterhood. Most of the time the threads are great and some great discussion.

A fresh place to just share my love of the game and all the fun gadgets, clubs, clothes etc that comes along with the lifestyle of golf.

I like how respectful folks on this forum are.

I love the transparency of the ownership/leadership.

The trips and giveaways are second to NONE. Just an all around incredible golf related experience.

First class social media experience.

Information on club search brought me here.

The people and unlimited information keep me here.

I enjoy reading about products and have learned alot about brands I previously didn't consider. Most importantly it is really full of good people and most of the time it is civil and fun for all. Rarely is the tone anything but friendly. Nothing bad about that.

The community. Incredible people around here. Plus the equipment feedback, reviews and giveaways are second to none.

I love seeing the banter, the joking, club ho-ing...all of it.

Review of some irons I was pondering brought me here. Thanks Jman

I’ve stayed as I liked the community feeling around here. The holier than thou vibe doesn’t last and you don’t get mocked/slammed for being a higher handicap with minimal technical knowledge.

Initially got routed here looking for advice on re-gripping clubs. Then I stumbled across a thread about testing clubs - where they let people keep the clubs afterwards. From then on it was an addiction. It's a great place for everything from contests, reviews, to just general nonsense. Following along with the live events is almost as good as being a part of it. JB and Morgan created something special here and that's why I keep coming back.

I originally came to THP for golf information and opportunities to golf in events with many different people. Now that I have gone to a few gatherings and met so many great people I am here more for meeting more people on here. I try to get to as many gatherings as I can afford and get to. The PEOPLE here is why I keep coming back!

I'm 41 but picked the game up about 5 years ago after returning from a Scottish vacation. I wanted to absorb knowledge so I started reading every site I could find. I stayed here because I felt like I could participate and feel like a member of a group without worrying about being shamed for my lack of skill or knowledge. I'm still not very good. I'm still working on it. I wish I was a lot better. I can accept I'll never be great. I just want to be an acceptable player and I think most people here can help me get there and I hope I can offer something to people as a part of being here as well.

I'm relatively new to being obsessed with golf. I started out at the /r/golf group, but that's basically just a bunch of memes. Still entertaining, but some folks aren't as nice as they should be. So heard about this place, and I have not been disappointed. Everyone is so incredibly cordial & friendly, and you get the feeling folks genuinely are trying to help others. My only wish is that I knew more about golf so that i could contribute more and help others, but figure that will come.

What he said.

I was surfing for a forum, tried some others, glommed on here. I stay for the people. All the rest is gravy.

Waitaminnit! You take gimmes! That’s not an official handicap!! (Lol. Sorry, I had to.)

The reviews brought me here. Tons of Googling in my complete newbie days led me here. I stayed for the people. It’s a passionate group that feels strongly about things and can actually have debates without turning it into a flame war... well, most of the time. The mods do a good job of not letting things get out of hand too, so that helps keep the forum going.

What brought you to THP and what keeps you coming back

Honestly not sure why I came here in the first place but it was likely for club information when I was first getting into golf. I lurked for a long time.

I stayed for the people - I actually met @T2GRN18 and his wonderful family during a DMV outing. I was floored how nice everyone was so I dove in deeper. I dove in head first really.

The porn, #golfporn that is

And i guess the people

FREE STUFF WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

To borrow @Thommo.sx 's trademarked slogan for the Breaking 100 thread:

Come for the golf, stay for the banter (TM, all copyrights under UK law, held by Thommo.sx)

Like most I came for the information. I stay, at least until the Hot Dog condiments debate gets settled once and for all. There is a right answer.

A friend took me to Bandon and that rekindled my love of the game. He and my caddie convinced me my hooks were the result of too whippy a shaft. I came home intent on buying a new driver, Googled "Ping G20" and found this place.

The stuff that keeps me around are the people, the friends I've made, the outings, the contests and that it's more than a golf forum.
