I live in Clarksville, IN right across the Ohio from Louisville, KY. The best public course near here is Heritage Hills in Shepherdsvulle, KY. It’s a really great layout and lots of fun to play. They also keep it in very good condition. A close 2nd is Chariot Run at the casino in Elizabeth, IN. Slightly better condition, but a much more generic layout. What about where you live?

30 minutes? Probably the Brickyard in Indianapolis.

Stonelick Hills.

The ONLY public course within 30 miles. My home course - Country Oaks in Thomasville, GA

The Bog? It's an Arnie signature course. Before I moved back to downtown Milwaukee, it used to be The Bull at Pinehurst Farms, which is WI's only Jack Nicklaus signature course.

My home course, Indian Hill in Chapman, KS I live kinda far out, so if you would give me an hour I would say Colbert Hills in Manhattan, KS

I'm sure I haven't played them all, but of the ones I've played, my favorite (not sure how I'd determine "best") would have to be Lake Hefner North. Both of the Lake Hefner courses and both Lincoln Park courses are nice. Kickingbird is nice. If semi-private counts, then Rose Creek wins, hands down, in my experience.

Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain State Park.

Woodstock Country Club, Woodstock Vt. Robert Trent Jones layout, meandering river on 11 of 18 holes sandwiched in a mountain valley. Only 6500 Par 70 (six par 3's, four Par 5's, but tight challenging target golf and nice green complexes, and some of the very best turf conditioning in New England. Home course of Keegan Bradley as a junior. I really enjoy the course. Silent electric carts and impreccable pro shop/starter service.

The Woodlands in Windsor Mills, MD. One of my favorite courses within 30 mins too.

My home course, Gordon Lakes. RTJ Sr. designed 18 of the 27 holes, a tough, challenging layout.

My home track, Morgan Creek.

I'm going with Saratoga National as the best within a 1/2 hour, but I think my favorite is Capital Hills.

There really aren't any great public courses within 30 minutes of me. Opening it up to 45 minutes changes that dramatically.

Within 30 minutes it would be Bloomingdale. It is a good layout that goes back and forth condition wise. It is approximately 15 seconds from my new back door.

Probably Prairie Green but I haven't played Grand Falls.

I haven't played them yet, but I've been told True Blue and Caledonia are the best around here. The best I've played is Whispering Pines about 10 minutes from my house.

I could say Galloping Hill, but I could also say Francis Byrne. It's a Banks design that used to be private that has had some amount of restoration done to it.

The Classic at Madden’s resort is ranked 58th on the Golf Digest Top 100 that You Can Play list for 2017. It’s 2 miles from our summer home and is one of the best conditioned courses I’ve ever played public or private.

Now that I’m back in Minneapolis, I’m lucky to have 2 private courses that have hosted Major Championships that I have access to(buddies that are members) within 5 miles of my house.

Playing it in the morning.

Riverdale Dunes. Pete and Perry Dye design that is always in perfect shape.

The new TPC Colorado course will be within the 30 minute range and will be a must play.

Probably Bears Best.
