    Heavy blade putters

I'm looking at making a putter change. I really prefer the feel of a heavy putter, but dont want another mallet. Can any of you share any experiences with some of the heaver blade style putters? Maybe a recommendation or two? Thanks!

Maybe check out the thread on the Evnroll putters. They have relatively heavy heads. I believe the blades still have heads weighing around 370 grams.

You should be able to find one on eBay too. If I had a blade I would send it to you but I just have a couple of their mallets. They actually offer 3 weight styles and even a semi blade that has adjustable weights.

Piretti makes some nice looking, heavy putters. Expensive, but they look high quality. Never tried one myself (too heavy for me).

They do make really nice putters. I have a Piretti Potenza 2 and I love it. The cost is roughly the same as a Scotty and the quality is right there too. I would strongly recommend trying a Piretti if you're looking for a heavier blade style putter.

The Boccieri's are legit. I have had a heavy ponder on one of those for a while. Just cant pull the trigger with all the other putters i already have.

Appreciate the feedback. I guess "heavy" is relative. I was over at the local PGASS and tried a few of the blades. They just felt like I really needed to put a good whack into it to get the ball rolling on longer putts. I love the stability of my current Odyssey 2-ball on those longer puts. No idea how much a White Hot 2-ball from 2001 or so weighs. Not much luck finding online. Also came across the Odyssey Tank. Not sure I want to peel $300-500 for a putter.

Some of the boutique putters will build you a putter any weight you want. But you're still going to pay $500+ for it. Or, putters like Scotty Camerons with the sole weights, you can swap out the weights and make it heavy. I put 30g weights in my fastback, which puts the head weight around 380g.

Or you can just load up a putter with a bunch of lead weight.

My white hot #9 putter has a 343 gram head weight and felt heavy compared to other blade putters I tried. Plus it cost me $67 if I remember right. The head is a tiny bit deaper than a traditional blade, but it still ueses a blade headcover. I love it!

Another thing you could look at doing is pick up a cheap Odyssey insert putter and send it to SpryEvo to have a copper insert installed to replace the factory insert. That copper insert adds some pretty significant weight I believe.

I went over to the PGASS on my lunch break. Rolled a few blades. Some were in the 350 to 360 gr. weight. Heavy enough to get by. But I'm gonna try the Odyssey O-works Tank. Didn't get a chance to try that out. Picked up the RH model, and it seemed heavier than my White Hot 2-ball. GREAT GRIPS. Also checked them out online and they seem to have really good ratings from the reviews I've seen. I'd love one of the "boutique" putters. The cool factor is through the roof. I saw one that was a raw/oil can color. I just can't seem to part ways with $600 for a putter. If I had more balls, I'd pull the trigger one one. Sexy as hell. But the wife would have a stroke over that.
