Looking at offerings from Titleist and Mizuno, but especially Titleist and buying individual irons seems to be entirely possible these days. My question is how mixed is too mixed. With Titleist current offerings a mid/high capper with a good iron game and moderate swing speed could really benefit from a mixed set.

Taking lofts into consideration I was thinking along these lines:
718 CB PW 47*
718 CB 9i 43*
718 AP2 8i 38*
718 AP2 7i 34*
718 AP3 7i 31*
718 AP3 6i 28*
718 AP1 5i 24*
718 AP1 4i 21*

Of course my 818 h2 17* hybrid!!

How mixed is too mixed? What do you think of a set like this?

Golf is about getting the ball in the hole in as few strokes as possible. If this set up does that for you, why be concerned?

Nailed it right here.

If it works for you, that's all that matters.

This is spot on. If you like the setup and it works well for you I say run with it.

They look gapped okay, so no reason you couldn't game these.
