Wilson Staff C200 Irons Review Thread

This is pretty cool. Hopefully they find something for you.

Wilson is trying their best to help out:

Hello Walt,

Thank you for contacting Wilson.

I have looked up the information on the demo program that gives you an opportunity to demo a long iron, mid iron and wedge for 14 days. After the conclusion of the 14th day the clubs need to be placed in the original packaging (foam included) and returned using the shipping label that is provided. Unfortunately it is not yet available for the C200 irons, only for the D200 irons and i don´t have an exact information when its going to be launched. I will try to look into some other solution for you to try out the C200 iron that you want. If i find something i will let you know by email.

well theres a set on the bay for half the price of retail, might be worth a shot, im sure funds could be recouped

Seller looks familiar too.

That's pretty crappy.

Call me crazy but if they made a C200 SW Id game that in a heartbeat, I love the AW that much

Ill be swinging by Golfsmith tomorrow to see if the demo 7i they ordered is in yet. I'll stick my D100 7i in the trunk so I can have some comparisons.

Same here. The GW is close to automatic for me from around 95-100 yards. I just call it "Gap Wedge" though, because ... well, anything else is just silly. :silly:

Someone earlier in the thread from overseas (AU or NZ I think) posted that their set had an "s" wedge, presumably sand, but no "g" wedge. They also mentioned that the s wedge had no power holes.

It's possible that there are C200 sand wedges in other markets.

I'd definitely be interested in a set sand wedge.

I would also, but the 55* PMP wide sole would be an excellent option as well, at least for me

Im looking forward to putting a set in play next month. I have to make it through PGA Show and then I will be testing a set out for a number of rounds. Playing with mikedean441 and the shots he was hitting have me convinced that it needs to happen.

So I've gone to two pretty big golf stores here in the Bay Area and nobody has any demo clubs. Pretty disappointing.

I really am looking forward for these to be available in store near me. The shop that carries wilson hasn't gotten the C200s in the cart yet or the demo set. They said they expected them to be there soon though, so I'll be able to give these a run against my irons and some of the other clubs I'm considering.

The only thing that would throttle a launch is availability and first hand experience (testing) especially if you want graphite. If these clubs aren't available to consumers, the newness wears off and people will look else ware. I decided to take the plunge on my own and order a 7 iron with my old specs to see how they perform. So far, no luck as no one wants to order just 1 iron. Still checking out places so all is not lost yet. I wish Wilson would make single irons available especially for this reason alone.

We did talk about this with the president Tim Clarke. Told him they gotta make a strong push in the social media market and availability, especially for people north just over the border like RustyCasino

Excellent news, looking forward to your feedback. Guessing you went Graphite right?

This is the exact complaint that I get from everyone that I mention the irons to or even Wilson Staff in general. They always have the same response, I am not spending that type of money on something that I cannot walk into the local golf store and hit/demo.

This was brought up by quite a few folks at #StaffProto, so Wilson knows that this is a huge concern.

You could let them hit yours. :D
The good news is Wilson will have a demo program available very soon.

Another viable option is to direct the regional sales director to your favorite golf store.... Then stop in at the store and hear your buddy say "so i got a call from the wilson rep.....i'm assuming that was you...?" Ha.

While hindsight is 20/20 that's probably something that should have been ready at launch, given the marketing blitz.

You have to remember the seasons and such. While us THPers are die hard and ready to play, most are not and these are literally just arriving in stores. I suspect you see it very very soon.

I blame THPers for creating a buzz and making me impatient haha.
