Working on some swing stuff with my coach - posted more details in the driver thread.

The coolest thing with these and the new swing thoughts on the range - these clubs really just do the work, just point and shoot the heads/shafts take care of the rest

Also always good to find out my path is wicked consistent hovers around 2* mark every time. Just need to fix the AoA

My AoA with these was significantly negative and working on getting it to positive

    Still digging them

The Speedback 4 iron continues to dominate in the fairway advancing, short par 4 fairway finding slot.

The shaft I have in it (Rogue max 85x) is definitely a weird setup when people see it and try to hit it, but I absolutely works. Low lifter off the tee, plenty of stopping power when I want to hit something more distance precise. Perfectly launchable for me off the fairway, and I've hit some crazy shots already into par 5s that have me shaking my head in such a good way.

I kind of love this club.

Well fairly certain these clubs as they are will never work for me. The deal is it's not the club heads themselves but the Recoil 110s, and starting to believe. Good swings produced a weak high right ball flight and contact was 90% on the toe.

Im still enjoying these - probably still honeymoon phase. LOL.

On good swings, they are pretty powerful, but distances are consistent. Im still pretty darn amazed at the stopping power from 8-GW. Seeing a little dancing when the ball lands on the green is super fun.

I am seeing my primary miss being a straight block, which is likely due to a combo of things in my setup. When I am more deliberate in my setup and my takeaway, results are usually really good, even on misses.

Very happy with these in the bag.

Played this weekend with a single digit buddy. We both pulled out 5 irons on a long par 3. Hes always been much longer. He came up short. I flew the green.

He mentioned that my irons are dialled in. I told him its the F9s.

Forgot to mention this but the other day at the range I was having a good session. I brought with me my King 4U, my FTB 4i and the F9 4i and used the SC200 to measure distances. On basically what I deemed to be a perfect strike the F9 was easily 10+ yards longer than either of the other options. Such a weapon off the tee. I have it with a c-taper lite shaft. Its crazy to think what could happen with a hybrid type shaft in there. Need to find a way to keep it in the bag

I need to start trying to utilize the 4-iron a bit more during my rounds (both of the tee and par 5s). It is a fantastic club and completely under-utilized in my bag. The tough part for me is its in the same distance range as my 5-wood (210-225), but I'm much more consistent with the 5-wood so the 4-iron rarely gets pulled out of my bag unless I need to hit a low stinger under trees.

Utility in the 2 spot is still my go-to for tee balls that need distance, but they are not that easy to hit off the deck when I am trying to get the ball forward on a par 5. That's where the F9 Speedback is a monster. It's almost laughable.

yeah, like anything, woods are going to be easier to hit than irons as are hybrids. If you're more comfortable with the 5w, it's a great club to hit.

Why is the Utility better off the tee for distance? Different shaft? They should be similar lofts right? and to me it seems that the Utiility and the F9 have very similar profiles so just curious.

I am not as long as you (but few are), so If I am not hitting driver, I almost always use 3 wood, which is a club I am very confident to hit off the tee. However, like you, I LOVE the 4 iron for long approach shots or as a second shot on par 5s, when placement for the approach is key. If I am 210 to 220 out from the green, I feel very confident that I will hit the green with the F9 4 iron and that is crazy good for me.

I've got a few available.. Gapr lo, King UT, T-MB, Apex... The shaft is going to play a role for sure, but I think the F9 Speedback is going to promote launch more than any of those options. For me, it definitely launches higher and and lands softer.

You need to give yourself more credit. 220 with a 4 iron is LONG by just about every standard.

Do you mean like this? I literally have a grin on my face now on this long par 3, whereas before the F9 4 iron, it truly was a 50/50 proposition as to whether I would bogey the hole. Now, I will still bogey it, but I literally feel confident that I will hit the green while standing over the ball.
