2016 Super Bowl Contest & Thread

I dont think anybody is acting like that.
This is not some "first time offense" in terms of acting like a fool. This is someone that has either gotten into it, or had it follow him at every level he has been at.

This was a kid that seemed to mature (to many) over the course of this MVP season and then when hit with ANY sort of adversity, took his ball and went home. There comes a point for a lot of pundits, fans and players where it stops being "I bet he gets it now" and starts to become "He just doesnt get it".

Has this one been looping in here yet? Cam looks nervous.

More like scared to me and this no way to play any game. He will learn from this and grow as a player and professional, i hope.

I just watched the interview. What a punk. He gave up on his team when he didn't dive for the fumble, and then acted like a punk @$% bi$%^ in the interview.
Another example of a punk that can dish it out, but can't take it.
Superman met his kryptonite....the Denver defense.

I agree, that is the first time I have ever seen him look scared in the pocket. Ware and Miller were in his head big time.

This sums up this duo.
Now not the part about picking wrong, that happens to everybody.
The going on and on about everything else.
I mean Skip Bayless spoke of Josh Freeman like a starter THIS year.

Clowns. Both of them. First Take is one of the worst shows on ESPN IMO.

To be fair, I have not watched it since those two took over and I watched one bit and was like "This is TV now?" Clamoring to the unemployed to yell at the set. But I have seen far too many clips and all of them end with me saying "No wonder ESPN is losing viewers like crazy".

ESPN has around 6 identical shows that involve the same topics and nearly same views spoken through a different mouthpiece... skip/SAS is probably the worst of all of them. Too many channels and not enough content

Play right out of the Tiger Woods handbook. If they are not talking about you, make them.

What??? Lol some of the comments I read in this thread are pure comedy.
Would you rather him pull a Brett Farve and have the team/fans thinking they will have a certain player going into the new season and pulls a last min before training camp retirement confrence or just let them know at the end of the football season (as he just did)

I'm not even going to touch the tiger wood comment. Lol

It's called the playbook for a reason. Making an announcement during another big event so all eyeballs are on it. Not sure what's not to touch...

And yeah during the Super Bowl is needed to not keep the team in limbo. Interesting

From a Panther fan from their first day,Congratulations to the Broncos. An awesome defensive performance. I wish we had played better but the D had a lot to do with that.
The Panthers defense was pretty stout too. 194 yards given up will win you some games.
I am not going to worry about Cam. He does a lot of stupid things. He seems to learn from them and get better. Sure beats what we had before he showed up. Our owner is a man of class and grace. Hopefully he will show Cam what that looks like. We are probably done with the DAB. I guess we will learn the next dance craze next season.

I still don't understand how Cam fans can justify him not diving for that football. Unbelievable to me. It is the Super Bowl for heavens sake. And you pull up and don't dive for it.
You have to leave it all out there for sure.

Just wondering did Josh Norman, Luke, Davis, Greg Olson or anyone else storm out of their presser like a child?

Of course not because they are not immature children

Let's not overreact here... I understand the fact that some people would love to cut Cam Newton down from the knees, and I fully agree this isn't how a professional should act, but sweet Yeezy boost, let's not act like he shot an unarmed man.

I'm not trying to defend him, because he played like crap and I don't like his demeanor. but I see a guy who fell really hard from the pedestal he was put on, by both himself as the people around him. He probably clearly wasn't taught any form of humility, especially not over the last couple of years. In his head, there was probably one outcome, and that was Newton being lifted on the shoulders of his teammates after the game holding the Lombardi... And he failed miserably, on the biggest stage a footballer can play on. That might be tough to swallow for someone like him, who believes (and is made to believe) he's unstoppable.

Let's hope he learns from this, and becomes a better person. If this experience doesn't straighten this crappy behavior, I doubt anything will.

Here are my bets;

1 - He'll never be taught how to lose. Some people are just **** losers.
2 - He'll never understand humility, because acting the way he did this season was fantastic for him up until yesterday.
3 - People will continue to dump on him because he acted like a child, not a professional.

I don't think anyone overreacted in their commentary for Newton. Watch his non-playing gametape from this season and you'll have a hard time convincing me that he doesn't deserve every ounce of grief that he's gotten.

I don't think anyone mentioned this but I read an article that said after the first review when Mike Carey's opinion of how the call should have been made, went opposite of what the Ref's on the field called, he didn't come back on. So did CBS choose not to put him back on or did he storm out and pull a Cam before Cam could?

I personally hate when they throw back to him or the dummy on Fox and they debate how they would have called it and then the Ref's go the opposite way. I hope CBS and Fox do away with that next season.

I can't see them dropping it. Happens in a lot of sports. It's a popular choice with NHL coverage as well, with similar outcomes.

I just checked out the lyrics to the song Beyonce did during the halftime show, and can't believe they let her do this. It's astounding .

It truly is disgusting. What a *****. Take a police escort to the game and then crap all over them with your performance.

One day, when her house is broken into and she calls the police - those boys in blue will show up and do their job for her over privileged ass.

This was the worst Super Bowl in Recent memory on many fronts (game itself, halftime show, commercials, etc.). Holding out hope for Super Bowl 51 to turn it around.

Going to post that the Cam antics are distracting attention away from the fact that was a horrible game. At one point late in the game the announcer said something like the gave has featured 14 penalties, 5 turnovers and 1 offensive TD. That's code for this game sucks. And you are right, even the ads were lame

I'm reading the lyrics to the song, there isn't a single mention of police in the lyrics. She mentions "illiuminati mess", but I don't think that applies.

It was sloppy football all over the place

The music video for the song advocates and portrays an "Us vs. Police" mentality. To me the video and the song go hand in hand once released, but I suppose this would be better served in a different thread.

apparently the video has a very anti-police message with kids dancing in front of riot lines, and graffiti saying things like "don't shoot us", but you're right, the song itself doesn't really say anything about the police. I don't know what people are so worked up about.

The entire show was one big politically charged and fueled mess. Can't expect much though from the SF area, NFL and the groups involved. The second I saw Coldplay and their colors, I knew what the whole thing was about.

I don't care to see over privileged idiots push their views on people, no matter what the message is. You are there to perform and entertain, not indoctrinate. I wish all celebrities would stay out of the political scene.
