They did, but the distance gap just didn't make sense in the bag.
I think they just wanted to see if you could hit the other end of the range with it.

Today was the day I finally got to hit the C200s.
I walked into Golfsmith and after walking towards the demo clubs, was asked by one of the fitters if there was anything in particular I wanted to hit. When I responded that I heard they had the new W/S demos in, he responded with a laugh and "oh, so YOU'RE that guy!"
So I guess I have a reputation now?
ANYWAYS! I grabbed the C200, D200, and F5, along with the XR OS and Cobra Max so I could have some comparisons. One of the fitters put together a Ping GMax for me to hit, but I was not a fan. The F5 I was able to put aside quickly, while I was able to hit it fairly straight, it was a good 15 yards shorter for me. And toe hits were not forgiving, at least not to my swing.
But the C200? All the reviews have been dead on. The ball just rockets off the face. Even mishits feel pretty darn good, but the ones you pure? Awesome. Peak height was on average 5 yards higher than the closest other clubs (D200 and Max).
Distance and dispersion wise, it was almost neck and neck with the D200 however. My miss with the C200 was just to the right, usually a slight fade, while the D200 wanted to draw slightly if it wasn't going dead straight. The Cobra Max just wants to go high and straight, period, but those thoughts are for another thread (likewise with the XR OS).
I'm going to head back with my D100s and do a true comparison on distance, dispersion, and peak height in a week or so. I know there's a pic of the C200 vs D200 in the thread, so here it is up against the F5 and the XR OS as comparisons.

Me too. These clubs are legit, the hype is real. Every accolade you and the #StaffProto testers have posted has been well deserved.
Not gonna lie - I've spent the afternoon thinking about what I could sell or trade to make it happen.
If I'm honest though, it'll really depend on the results of the head to head with my D100. If they truly give me that much more consistency, I'll have some by the time winter here in the Northeast breaks. This way I'll have some time to save up. If the head to head doesn't show big gains (and I totally think it'll show improvement in every metric) then I'll probably hold off for a bit, and keep any gear ho'ing to a minimum to be able to pick some up.
Here is a photo of the D100 vs. C200

They are impressive. I enjoyed hitting 441s last weekend. Smooth, easy to launch, and loooonnnngggI really really really want to hit these with the graphite shaft!
You come on over and we can make that happen. I have seen you play and believe these could be a good fit for you.I really really really want to hit these with the graphite shaft!

Come on, like stated in the review, I was playing Amp Cells with Kuro Kage stiff graphite shafts. Which to me were very forgiving, so to have a club even more forgiving is a huge gainRobman- What were you gaming previously?
Love my set GW. I have hit enough great shots with it alreadyThey are impressive. I enjoyed hitting 441s last weekend. Smooth, easy to launch, and loooonnnnggg
That AW though, that thing is a beast.
Yeah, I see that now.Come on, like stated in the review, I was playing Amp Cells with Kuro Kage stiff graphite shafts. Which to me were very forgiving, so to have a club even more forgiving is a huge gain
Absolutely. Now I imagine some seen a bigger gain than I did but it was just enough to allow me to get those farther distances with the 5 and 6 ironYeah, I see that now.
Those were long irons, so to see you gaining distance with these says a lot.
