Some Bernie stats- 1st in scoring, 2nd in total driving, 3rd in GIR, 3rd in scrambling and 18th in putting. (ranking as of this week)
For a guy who anchors his putting sucks compare to the rest of his game.
This is why the USGA and R&A should make any putter club longer than 40" non conforming to the Rules.
The current Rule allowing use of long putters (so long as they are not anchored to the belly-chest-or above the elbow), it is too much of a challenge to monitor. 40" or shorter putter lengths would naturally eliminate any questions regarding anchoring.

That wouldn't change anything. The cheater(s) would simply anchor it and claim they weren't anchoring or claim that it wasn't their intent.

40" or less putter length eliminates the option of anchoring to the belly or chest .

Well, I'm sure there are some who could anchor a 40" putter to the belly. Even without the belly, they could still anchor it to the thigh.

I think there should be two options:

    1. Ban all anchoring, arm lock thigh lock groin lock whatever lock. All clubs must be held with the hands and no other contact past 1.75" (maximum grip width) from the palm/wrist line, unless medical exemption granted.

    2. Repeal the anchoring ban because it is stupid and doesn't really make that much of a difference for the pros. Golf has evolved past croquet mallets and niblicks.
