Casinos will prevent it. You can't bet on sports in Vegas if there is a team there I believe.

Makes sense, boy what a crazy atmosphere it would be with an nfl game/team in vegas!

[h=2]Issues with major league sports[edit][/h]The most prominent issue is the perceived problem of legal sports betting. All four major professional sports leagues have strong anti-gambling policies, prohibiting their personnel from having any involvement in gambling. The NFL has taken the toughest stance, even refusing to accept Las Vegas tourism advertising for Super Bowl telecasts[SUP][3][/SUP] and threatening to file suit against any local hotels holding Super Bowl parties.[SUP][4][/SUP] In recent years hotels have gotten around the legal threat by referring to the Super Bowl as "The Big Game" rather than its actual name in advertising.[SUP][4][/SUP]

ESPN ranked Tom Brady the best Super Bowl player ever...

I guess 4-0, 11 TDs to 0 interceptions and a ~68% completion rate doesn't get the job done. Montana took 3rd behind Aikman (really?) and Brady.

That's hilarious.

And, that was in an era when NOBODY completed passes at a 68% clip! Defenses were allowed to essentially molest receivers downfield. Now, receivers are barely touched.

At least Richardson didn't put him in the Panthers Hall of Fame.
There are some shady characters in the Packers HOF. That's for sure.

I saw that nonsense the other day. What a frickin' joke.

Brady's two "-gates" immediately drop him behind Montana IMO. Let alone Montana has pretty crazy stat line. I think he also ran for 2 TDs for 13 total in 4 SBs. That's impressive.

My biggest issue with these comparisons is how different the game was played then versus now. Same goes for basketball and the constant comparisons to Jordan. Statistics are one thing, but the NFL has gone to great lengths to make sure the QB is protected. That was not the case when Joe Montana was playing!

It is one game a week that couldn't be bet on. That would be at least marginally offset by increased tourism for Raider's home games and bringing local residents to the strip for games, both of which would involve some measure of non sports spending and gambling.

Hmm, interesting.

Considering the Raiders dark personna, I think that they would be a perfect fit for Vegas.

Did the ESPN Boston writer write this article? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I never watched a single SB with Montana, so I'm no expert. But looking at the stats its Montana hands down no questions asked, even before you factor in how much the game has changed.

ESPN was born in Connecticut, not that far from Boston. No surprise that they might be biased.

The Raiders are now linked to the JFK assassination and I heard the land acquired by the Raiders in the "Austin/San Antonio Area" (That's a BIG area) is where Hoffa is buried.

Honestly, how could any sports team be in Vegas. It'd be like Pete Rose's wet dream? I'm sure ole Chucky wouldn't allow that.

HAHAHAHA! is that a draw bridge??

Romo had to be top 5 biggest, I think it was like 32K square feet, thats hard to phathom

What cracks me up is when the guys realize what it takes to maintain a house this size, not Brady or Romo bc they know, but mid level guys who buy mansions and freak out at the taxes and stuff.

Don't stop there. Imagine what it was like for Bart Starr? Was "roughing the passer" even a thing in the 60s?
