I saw a lot of his clubs on Instagram and now his website is up and selling them. $400.00 for a single wedge and $1000.00 for a set of wedges seems like a small market he will appeal to for the beatings a wedge will take in my opinion.
 
He does nice work. Nothing really that unique. To your point, my customers go through wedges at least once a year. I've never charged that kind of money. Usually just my cost for the wedges and the work (broken down into $/hour)

I can't imagine a lot of them would return
