Unfortunately, I've had a few "breakthroughs" that were more like....snake oil.

Playing again tomorrow so will have a better idea.

I even have Coach Jim54 to help me, so I'm certain to go low ;)

I wouldn’t call it snake oil, more of a different “technique” for the same result. Analogy-wise, a lob versus a bump & run.

The range ball thread in the main forum is amazing.

Playing tomorrow, not keeping score. Don’t know if I’m breaking 100 or not.

    Edit: I shot a 92 tomorrow already.

Hopeful it's less about an aiming method and more about the aiming method causing a lot of other things to fall in place.

So far, it seems using the "new" method---I am sort of accidentally getting into a better/more efficient posture.

This allows everything to clear---and adds speed and improved contact/ball flight.

Reduces the need for exaggerated follow through and reduced lower back issues.

    So far, anyway.

Maybe an underappreciated concern that sounds very basic---but might generate outsized results.

I got beat up this aft on the course shot a 95. Range was closed so no warm up at all. I never felt like I was hitting well all day. 4 three putts didn’t help. Tomorrow is another day and back at it!

Very mixed round this morning of 44 on the front 51 on the back.

The 44 on the front included two 8's a birdie and a near HIO where I then missed the two foot putt for a second bird. I only played one hole badly, the first 8 was poor course management taking too tight of a line on a short par 4 and getting stuck in some heavy rough. Took a few shots just to get it back in play. The course is fairly straightforward if you keep it in play but the second cut of rough is brutal and what cost me today.

Back 9 requires more woods off the tees and that's where I struggled. Found the thick stuff a couple more times on the back 9 and also missed 4 putts 2 feet or less throughout the round. The struggles off the tee with the crossover surprised me as I didn't hit a bad shot with it on the range last night. Once I get that working i'll be in for some good scores as everything 6i down was solid.

Bad shots come out under pressure. Make practice more like a round after you’ve done technical stuff

47 today. Really really not unhappy with it. One terrible hole, but everything was pretty good, including some good pars.

    Congratulations!

    Solid front.

Sounds like scores will be dropping soon.

    Broke 100 today.

Broke 90 for the second time ever.

    131 slope from 6400+

    Conditions were absolutely swampy.

    Zero roll. Rough high---couldn't mow.

Shot 87. 46/41. Even got one of those "you're not supposed to shoot that well" warnings from GHIN.

And the best part is @Jim54 didn't actually have to check my grip all day ;)

The aiming/alignment adjustment is just really helping.

Such a simple thing but really working so far.

Difference between playing golf and playing "golf swing". It's amazing how much better we can play when you focus on the target and not the ball or "making the swing".

At least I don't smell...too bad..it was fun watching Ethan play well. He played a very smart round and gave himself some good looks. I had him at 84 but he rejected my scoring.

I did my best to make it to 100, learned another lesson about playing with a hangover which is don't play at all..
