I am going to be in Las Vegas Friday Dec 21st and would like to tee it up with a THP'r or two when I get out there. I will have a rental car so anywhere within a reasonable distance would be fine. This is the start of a 10 day vacation that will take us to Vegas, Laughlin, Lake Havasu and end up in Palm Springs. I have a lot of hiking and activities planned but I kept this day open for golf.

I was just there, played 3 rounds, weather was lovely. Played Rio Secco, Cascatta and Reflection Bay. Came back Friday and weather had gone to hell though.

Enjoy!

Wow that place is beautiful.
Next time I get to Vegas I'm going to spend some time outside the Poker room.

Vegas is a great place to start a vacation, flights and rental cars are cheap and plentiful. We have went north into Utah an did Zion, Bryce Canyon and the north rim of the Grand Canyon during one trip. Last year we went south thru Lake Havasu past Phoenix and Tucson. Death Valley and California are close as well. One night in the casino is enough for me.

I think I might be able to swing golf on that Friday. Where are you thinking of playing?

I have been looking at the recommendations from you and others in the Vegas threads and I am not sure where to play. I was hoping a member would chime in with an idea. I will just let you pick, make it easy on yourself. I do not have to play the greatest course in Vegas, a decent course that is affordable is fine with me. Can not wait to meet you sir.

Excited to tee it up with campilobaxter Friday after next!!

A short hike into this canyon to look at some ancient petroglyphs. I am not sure what these ancient people were trying to say but its cool to imagine.

Made it down to the Colorado river in the afternoon.

Nice. How was the course? I’m there in March and LVN is on my short list.

The course is in great condition for December. It is fairly long with some trouble to be found. I found nearly every bunker and can attest they are in great shape. The greens are medium speed and very well groomed. We payed $50 each because Dan is a local but it would have been $120 if you pay non resident rates. I would look elsewhere unless you can play with a local.

Yeah, not worth $120 IMO, but few courses are.

We drove old route 66 from Kingman AZ down to interstate 40. I can just Imagine James Dean carving this mountain pass in an old vette. These burros are actually standing in the main drag of Oatman AZ. Its a cool little town way off the beaten path. You can buy food and feed them right on main street. We are renting a side by side atv today to blast through the desert.

We rented this RZR 900 for the day. So much fun to blast through the desert on this!! This thing can get you in trouble quick, power on demand at any speed.

My Ben Hogan backpack made it all day on the back of the RZR. The Velcro straps were very helpful.

In and Out burger for lunch. BURP!!

Back to some golf on Christmas day. This is Emerald Canyon in Parker AZ. I shot a 41 on the front and absolutely melted down with a 50 on the back.

@campilobaxter is the man when it comes to this. Certainly worth reaching out to him if you are in the Vegas area and want to play a round.
I'm coming back Dan at some point!

Looking forward to it Mark!

A round at Mesquite golf and country club in Palm Springs. Very windy day where I shot 90 flat with a birdie on 18. This was a hot deal on Golfnow for ten bucks!! with cart no less.

Glad to be back home after an epic vacation. We can only take time off like this during the Christmas holidays so we hit it hard. The weeks of planning paid off as we were never bored and we did not drive for more than a couple hours in any given day. Palm Springs is golf paradise BTW.
