I started playing again after about a 25 year lay off. It takes time to get back to your form. I would give it a good year of play and practice and you will be back in your old form. Take it slow and have fun. Also if you have a chance to get some new clubs, it will make a difference. The new technology is a lot better than the past. Good Luck!
