For those of you with far more technical knowledge and club fitting insight than I have, what would you expect the ball flight differences to be between a 9 degree driver with a mid-launch shaft, and a 10.5 degree driver with a low launch shaft?
I realize different heads, different shafts, and different swings make this question impossible to answer with a “one size fits all” type explanation. I’m just curious.
I play a 9 degree head with a mid-launch shaft now. When I’m hitting it well, it’s low to mid flight, and pretty straight. I’m wondering if a lower launching shaft, but with a 10.5 degree head, might squeeze out any more carry.
FWIW, I generally have a a flat or negative AoA. I’m working on a swing tweak with my pro that may, or may not, change that. But it will improve path consistency and club head speed. So I don’t want to do a fitting again at the moment; not until I have that grooved a little more. Just trying to get ideas of head and shaft combos I’m going to want to try.
