I really enjoy having this thing. I'm actually not sure how the heck I played golf for so long without something like this.

So nice knowing the exact yardages to every hazard, bunker, water etc.

I stumbled across another feature that's pretty sweet.
This GPS has a "Plays Like" feature which uses topography to calculate adjusted uphill/downhill yardages just like slope on a rangefinder. It can be toggled on and off.

How are you liking this so far? I'm really thinking about trying to drum up funds for this. I think I'm ready to go back to a GPS and really like the launch monitor like feature.

Does this have the ability to mark different points on the green to estimate flag location? Does it have any stat keeping functionality? My old Sky Caddie could keep some basic stats and I'd imagine the newer units have more options available.

You can move the flag anywhere on the green.
It can keep basic stats if you take the time to enter all the info. I find the scorekeeping function to be pointless since using a pencil is quicker and easier.

I'm interested in this too and the S60 watch. If the distances are that far off then I'm not. youTube reviewers say its pretty accurate.

I compared mine to a Trackman and it was very very close across the board.

I just liked the ability to dump the data into one source and track trends. Not that the Sky Caddie was very complex. Tracked fairways missed, average drive distance if measured, gir, and putts. I've tried tracking on a card and always get lazy when it comes to entering the data into a spreadsheet after a while.

Sounds like it has all the features that I liked about the Sky Caddie. Now I just need to think long and hard about investing that kind of dough when my range finder is still working just fine.

I had several used putters that I used as trade-ins to pick up one of these. I am using it primarily for the launch monitor feature, because I have been using Arccos through Cobra Connect. However, when I decide not to use my phone, I will give the GPS a shot, too.

    A few initial thoughts:

    1. The device seems very intuitive and simple to use.
    2. The screen is great. I have looked at it out in the sun and there is no problem. Of course, the brightness feature can be adjusted.
    3. The size is very appealing to me.
    4. The battery seemed to charge more quickly for me than as reported by @Armygolf.

I will use it on Friday for a scramble (because the Arccos obviously is not helpful in the scramble format). I will provide more details then. In the interim, if anybody has any questions, throw them up here in the thread and I will focus on answering them.

I'm still seeing pretty slow charging times. I'm charging through the USB port on my laptop - perhaps that makes a difference?
That said, the battery life so far has been positively unbelievable. I currently have 3 full rounds on my unit and the battery is still at 59% so in my mind this more than makes up for the slow charging that I'm experiencing.
I've had no issues viewing the screen despite my early concerns. I do wish the screen had some brighter colors or more "pop" to it if that makes sense?

Charging through the computer must make it slower, because plugged into an outlet directly, it charged up fully in no time.

Is this unique to the G80? Have you had the same issue charging other devices through your computer?

Not all USB ports are created equal. The amount of current they deliver can be all over the map. Some are even optimized for Apple or non Apple products as the pin assignments on the connectors differ.
