Do you play to your handicap?

I don’t try to shoot any number. I just shoot what I can for that day. I’m around a 7 and sometimes I shoot my cap, sometimes over, sometimes under. Just depends on how I’m striking the ball. I have noticed I shoot my best scores when I don’t know what my score is until the end.
That's difficult to do nowadays with keeping score on an app.

I always just try to shoot my best score. Never really even consider my handicap while I'm playing. Some days I can be 5 under my cap others 10 over. Just depends. Now with that said, the game somewhat changes in a match play tournament situation.

I find that I play my best when I'm standing on the tee thinking through what it will take to make birdie on the hole. There are a few holes where that isn't realistic and a better goal is par. The point is I start out thinking what my potential is for that hole and what I need out of the tee shot to realize that potential. Now if I get out of position, I may have to adjust the goal...or not depending on what the possibilities in front of me.

That's the approach that works best for me.
