Didn't find a thread on this when I searched (didn't bother with threads older than 2 years)

What do you mark your ball with on the green?

Is there a "lucky marker", or do you use just about anything?

Myself, I use a US quarter from 1935, simply as that is the oldest one I've ever encountered :p

If you have any pics, please share :)

I use a THP Albatross Club coin. This year I will switch to the new version (this one)

I usually use any coin in my pocket, but I'll make exceptions with these.

I just use a FJ one that came on one of my gloves a while ago. I tried a poker chip one day but only used it for one hole, it looked weird and felt weird putting something so big down to mark my ball.

Either an AC coin or a Callaway Majors coin. If I need something small to not affect a playing partners line I will use a quarter.

I use a ball marker with a picture of my daughter on it.

I've got a variety of markers I use. I've got one in my Nexbelt, and I found a few last night from the course I worked at in Alaska, and a couple from courses I played while I was in Alaska, and each of them will fit in my Nexbelt so they'll rotate in and out of there. The one I use most frequently is an Air Force one that fits in my divot tool. It's in my pocket and convenient when I play. I also use my AC coin(s) on occasion. So no, no lucky marker for me. Just whatever I happen to reach for, as I've usually got multiple options in my pocket.

I had been using a poker chip but now use the THP coin I got last year!

I definitely use something that can be seen from space! :alien2:

No really ... a dime, a quarter & a THP coin.

I use one of two-- an old DC metro token or a $1 casino chip from the Bellagio.

THP coin or my Odyssey works coin.

I have a few extra albatross/thp coins, it's the only thing I use anymore!

I always thought the reason you marked your ball was to keep from interfering with another golfers roll but some of the larger and thicker markers are going to still affect the roll if they hit it. I played with a retired pro that said the marker is used mostly to reduce distraction of another ball as well as blocking it and if it throws an opponents roll off by hitting it - that's tough. Does it matter how thick it is?

I've got a double-sided New York Giants ball marker that I use. Depending on my mood, I will flip the coin one way or the other. If I'm playing well, I'll face the white side up with the 80s & 90s logo spelling out "Giants"... if I'm playing poorly, I'll face the dark side up with the current "NY" logo.

I try to keep as little in my pockets as possible. Typically, in my right pocket, I'll have a pencil, my divot repair tool and my ball marker. In my left pocket, I try to keep nothing. In my back right pocket, my scorecard. That's usually it. I don't like clutter or having to search for anything.

Either one of my THP coins, the Hideaway ball marker a friend gave me, or some foreign coins my dad gave me. I also just picked up one from French Polynesia at the RTJ Grand National that will go into the collection.

I use the Rose & Fire marker (slightly larger than a quarter) and will use the Seamus one once it arrives. I also have three 1979 fifty cent pieces in my bag. I'll mix in my Albatross Club 2016 marker when it shows up, too!

Yeah i came home with a bunch but the saturday after i got back i played with about 10 local THPers and each got 2 coins and a Hideaway tee. Now im almost out of the Hideaway tees haha

I have a large coin with my university affiliation that I use. If my mark would be in someone's line it has two standard size magnetic markers with it.

I use a 10p piece from back home. There are about 3 or 4 designs, one of them features the 3 lions crest, also used by the national football and cricket teams. I spent the last 6 months saving any shiny ones to use before I moved Stateside.

I have several. THP one from last year and use one on my hat clip. Haven't used the NexBelt marker yet but it's a nice convenience.

I've been using a Boston Red Sox ball marker, but I'll be swapping that out for the albatross club marker when it gets here.
