I may get blasted by Golf Purists but do any of you wear trail runners for golf? I was at the New Balance outlet yesterday and saw a pair of trail runners that are very comfy and would provide at least as much traction as my Ecco Biom 3. I very seldom go out for early morning rounds so being waterproof is not that big of an issue, and if it's wet then I can wear my Ecco's. I am seriously considering one of these for summer rounds...

Some good looking color combos.

Last season I forgot my golf shoes at home and ended up playing my league match in my Under Armour Fat Tire shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes I have worn. The sole pattern is not much different than spikeless golf shoe designs. The sole material was developed by Michelin and is fairly soft, and is supposed to provided traction on wet rocks. I noticed no difference from the Ecco's or Sketchers I wear golfing. I also shot my lowest 9 hole score that night closing my opponent out on the 6th hole.

Shoes like that work just make sure the ankle support is what you need for lateral movement.

I don't see why not...if they feel good and look good to you, go for it. The soles look like they would do just fine in dry conditions. I usually wear my trainers at the range unless it's wet.

I try to walk when I play and have yet to find a pair of golf shoes that keep my feet feeling good by the end of the round. Because of this I wear trail runners when I walk. They have some extra traction and give my feet the support I need. I do think that traditional golf shoes offer a little more traction than trail runners though, especially on wet days.
